Zeds Dead Abducted Chicago This Past Weekend
I have to say, this past weekend I attended Zeds Dead in Chicago at the Wintrust Arena and DANG! My boys DELIVERED!
First off, I’m no stranger to Chicago. While I live a few hours away, I typically count that as my stomping ground. I live in the middle of nowhere Iowa-now Illinois…. but still, a ways from anywhere cool, so I take the trek quite frequently. But this was a first. I have NEVER been to Wintrust Arena, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, to be honest. I mean, Aragon? Of course! Navy Pier! YEP. I’ve even been around the block enough that I know about Congress, Concord, and the Mid. But Wintrust was a new one for me.

Anyway, I used the amazing ParkWhiz to park nearby and then went into the arena. First off, SEAMLESS! It took me no time to get into the arena, which was good with the negative wind chills. And everything was so well laid out. I didn’t deal with obnoxious lines the entire night, whether it was in the bathroom or the concessions area. I will applaud them on that.
Now, time for the actual REVIEW!!!! Starting off, all of the openers were FIRE! I missed the opener but was able to catch Delta Heavy first. After that, we had Apashe, which was EPIC! So many BANGERS.
And then, the headliner we were all there to see, ZEDS FREAKING DEAD, baby! While people were standing throughout the show, they were also sitting at times. Not during the opening of Zeds Dead! Everyone was on their feet, dancing and grooving.
With this being my first show since breaking my ankle in August, I wasn’t able to make the whole show without sitting, so I was VERY glad to have a seat. I’ve never done seats at a show and honestly, it was pretty chill. It was nice to have a spot for my coat and the merch we bought. It was also nice to have a dedicated spot for me to relax and put up my leg.
Everyone I spoke to said Zeds Dead absolutely slayed in Chicago. While I was only able to attend Saturday, everybody said both nights were completely different but still EPIC. I was so thankful to be able to attend. It was a great first show back!
