Another Inaugural Event, United Sounds NYC!
We love all the new festivals happening this year! Check out this BRAND new festival called UNITED SOUNDS NYC FESTIVAL. This festival was explicitly created to fill the significant gap for independent music in New York City’s fall cultural calendar. Taking place Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn, the two-day event will feature performances by Blonde Redhead, Sunflower Bean, Les Savy Fav, Model/Actriz, Man Man, Monobloc and Peel Dream Magazine, with additional artists, DJs, neighborhood events and more to be announced in the coming weeks. It will also feature The Dismemberment Plan, who played their first show in a decade last night and note, “This one wasn’t part of our original plan, but glad it worked out!” United Sounds NYC Festival has also teamed up with WFUV Public Radio, 90.7FM and wfuv.org as the fest’s official media sponsor. Sounds like a fun weekend of events!
In keeping with their independent spirit, tickets for United Sounds NYC Festival are well-priced at just $50 for single day tickets and $75 for two-day passes. “We wanted to start an annual music festival in New York City during the fall season, in the spirit of great indie-focused events of the past like CMJ,” notes the festival’s talent booker Diane Perini who also co-founded and programmed Siren Music Festival, the beloved Coney Island fest that ran for a decade. “Our goal is to bring celebrated independent artists and music fans together for a fun weekend in a great setting. We were drawn to Red Hook to launch the event because it has such a welcoming seaside community vibe, that feels like you’re out of the city, yet it’s right there across the water from lower Manhattan.”
The United Sounds NYC Festival is the first official event produced by United Sounds, the company co-founded by music industry veterans with extensive experience in the live music space Diane Perini, Shay Vishawadia and Dipesh Sinha. “We are too excited to wait until 2025 to start launching the events, festivals and concerts that we are envisioning,” says Vishawadia. “We see the festival as a plant-our-flag moment and we are looking forward to expanding United Sounds not only as the annual festival, but also producing a full calendar of events in NYC and additional markets.”
