Cascade Equinox – The Newest Music Experience!

Pretty Lights, Goose, Phantogram, Big Wild and so many more incredible artists brought the best vibes to Cascade Equinox 2023!

I heard about this new festival that Gem & Jam and 4 Peaks Presents were collaborating towards bringing to Redmond Oregon and I knew I HAD to experience it, and they sure did not disappoint! For its inaugural event, my expectations were blown out of the water. Held at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in the majestic landscapes of the Pacific Northwest High Desert, the curators at Cascade couldn’t have picked a better location! Not only was it laid out in a circle so everything was very easy to access, the grounds had a beautiful small creek running through the middle and being held on September 22-24, the weather was absolutely perfect. Be sure to put this on your list for next year because you don’t wanna miss it! Keep an eye on their website for more info!

Pretty Lights Brought The Heat!

The music lineup was very eclectic and every stage brought the right vibes. I loved the main stage, it had great sound quality and a lot of room for crowds to spread out, and it was centrally located so it was easy to look through vendors or food options while listening to the main stages. My favorite set of the weekend was definitely Pretty Lights, who made Saturday night spectacular with a sound and vibe I hadn’t felt in years since he was coming back from a long hiatus. Another set I really loved was Goose, the energy was so happy and uplifted and everyone seemed to be having an amazing time. Big Wild, Phantogram, Of The Trees, Emancipator and so many more incredible artists brought their own unique vibe to each of the unique stages. I really loved the cosmic drip area because it was housed in a garage-type warehouse building and had live artists with live music, it was like a whole different world!

A Festival With Something For Everyone!

I also particularly loved how family-friendly the festival was since I brought my little guy with me for the experience. There was a whole kiddo area with hula hoops and swings for them as well as a merry-go-round and Ferris wheel which we deeply enjoyed. The food options were great and service was so quick, I also loved the access to indoor clean bathrooms and the free showers were fantastic as well! Security was also quick and effective, and the grounds were always clean, I never saw trash anywhere. Everyone there was so friendly, including those that were working and I felt safe and welcomed in each environment. There were yoga classes, mindfulness workshops and so many other things to expand horizons through experience. Camping was also quick, easy to navigate, and hosted on the softest grass imaginable with a pretty short walk from any campsite to the festival grounds.

Overall, I usually try to avoid first-time festivals until they work out all of the kinks, especially while bringing my son, but these two production companies have such a solid and phenomenal reputation that I had so much faith in this festival, and they delivered more than I ever could have imagined. Everything ran like a well-oiled machine, the visuals, lights, and art were of the highest quality, the spaces were clean and easy to navigate and the music, above all was loud, electric, and hit the soul in just the right spot. This is definitely a festival I will be returning to for years to come! Be sure to keep up with their website for more information for next year, you don’t wanna miss it!
