FEED ME Fed My Soul
FEED ME Fed My Soul by Guest Writer: Andrew Ramirez
The end of 2025 is coming to a close; it’s almost holiday season, it’s almost time to put our pashminas away and our hydration packs down till spring hits next spring. Wow. This year sure does go by fast. So I made sure to FEED ME my soul!

So before the cold starts, before the snow starts to come down, before we go home to see our families and stuff our faces with Thanksgiving turkey and pie, and soon to be Christmas cookies and apple pie. I wanted to do one more big event. So I asked one of my best friends if there was anything going on. I’ve always gone to shows with her, and they’ve always been super fun. So I know anything she suggests is gonna be super solid gold. The big event on her list, which I knew nothing about until she told m,e was the artist at the sound bar in Chicago called FEED ME.
Usually she and I go together to a lot of shows, but this time she was busy, so she wouldn’t be able to come with me. I tried asking anyone of my other friends if they were available to go, but they were also busy with stuff. So it was just gonna be me, super solo, super excited, super stoked.

Heading to the Sound Bar was pretty easy. It was right off the red line. I got off at Grand, walked west a little bit, and boom, there I was at the Sound Bar. It was a bit rainy coming in from outside.
Entering the Sound Bar:
The entrance is on the left side of the building with some stairs. You have to go through the security check first and then up the stairs. It’s an easy obstacle.
Once I was inside, I sure was glad to be out of the chilly rain. I decided to come down lightly. I took off my black wet hoodie and put out in my drawstring bag, and I took out my pashmina and put that on. It sure was nice to be out of the cold and into the warm venue.
Part 1: BRE5LIN.
It didn’t take me long to adjust cold, wet rain outside to the good electric sparks of the first opener, BRE5LIN!!
The crowd is still filling up the venue, and people were still showing up. Someone in the crowd spotted me wearing a pashmina, and they told me they really liked it. Turns out he was wearing one too. We were the only two guys in the whole venue wearing those.
BRE5LIN, by one point said “How are you doing in Chicago? It’s only going to get faster!” That’s exactly when he dropped some happy hardcore bass, which made me dance, dancing my fist in the air.
The second opener, Boris came on:
The Sound Bar has two main floor VIP seating areas and two main stage areas, which are raised VIP spots to the left and the right of the stage and the DJ main act booth.
When FEED ME came on, suddenly all the ravers came out and appeared on the dance floor. There was one person gloving with lights at the end of their fingers. There is another who put on a Feed Me mask, and girls were using their light up whips. There were three of them, and the dance floor totally lit up. That feeling of being fully jacked into the matrix, with the vibe you know was the last outing at the end of summer, the end of warm weather. We were all in a big thing together: the feeling high of cinematic base drops. It definitely felt like a clip in a movie.
The only downside of the Sound Bar was that they had no merch for their main artist, and I was hoping to buy a T-shirt or a pin.
When Feed Me was done playing, he came down off to the right of the stage to talk with his fans for a bit. I had a chance to ask him one question.
What was your favorite part about playing this venue?
FEED ME:
I like playing here as much as I come here, you see my wife is actually from here, so Chicago is my second home away from home, so I’m here quite a bit.
I love going to events like this because when you show up, everyone is family.
