Get The Most Out Of Groove Cruise

My first Groove Cruise was spectacular, meeting so many beautiful people, learning from panels, and dancing my tush off. Throughout this adventure, I noticed I missed a couple of things, sets, and services. Bear with me, I am new to a lot of this since it was my first time EVER on a cruise ship.

Packing

Try to pack little by little as the date gets closer so that you can focus more on your mode of travel. I tried to avoid packing EVERYTHING until the last minute, but I learned my lesson. Envision what kind of outfits you have in your closet, then have a day to try on outfits. Keep in mind Groove Cruise will have themes for day and night. I cannot stress enough the IMPORTANCE of comfortable fits and footwear.

groove

There are some things that I didn’t think I’d need, but here is a list of some essential items for Groove Cruise:

  • Sandals
  • Water Bottles (Multiple in case you lose one)
  • Ear Plugs
  • Gum
  • Candies
  • Small Speaker (For your room, to help you sleep)
  • Small Gifts (If you’re so inclined)

Travel

If you are flying, I would suggest getting there a day early.  I flew the day of and my checked bags were still in Colorado. I did some quick shopping and after I spent a good amount the airline called and said my bags were ready to get picked up. I still believe I got lucky that day, but I was so frustrated and worried about my personal belongings. Please spare yourself the headache, money, and energy. The sooner you make travel accommodations, the better.

Mental Preparation

Before you start traveling I would recommend mentally preparing yourself for this experience. Including all the things you may not enjoy as well, you will be on a big boat without the option of going home right away. Meditation and yoga is a good way to start, even if it is short sessions.

I didn’t realize that making a phone call or posting videos/photos would be such a hassle. There are three different tiers of Wifi, each is priced accordingly. You may also prepare yourself to go without any cell phone reception. Make sure you have enough storage on your phone for videos and pictures. I ran into that problem with no way to connect to google photos or the cloud.

Gifts That Keep On Giving

If you are the type of person that loves to make/trade kandi, sprouts, etc. Please continue to do so, because I know I will. It may not be much, but it means a lot to some of us. This allows people to meet and connect with others you share a dance floor with. I do not know what I will bring just yet, stay tuned, I will reveal this on Instagram!

Fun”Ship” on the Ship

  • Encore Speedway (Who doesn’t want to be on the biggest race track at sea)
  • Laser tag
  • Galaxy Pavillion (An arcade at sea)
  • Escape room
  • Spa
  • Fitness Center
  • Onboard Shopping

These funship activities do come with a price and will not be available 24/7. Please refer to https://www.groovecruise.com/the-ship for more information.

I am looking forward to the arcade games at the pavilion and the speedway to get some adrenaline going. The spa would be amazing on the last couple days to recharge. I’m definitely going to join the pilates session in the fitness center, I just hope that it’s scheduled during the mornings.

The last piece of advice I would like to give is if you like someone else’s outfit, dancing, vibe, etc, LET THEM KNOW in a respectful manner. Do not hold back because of how you think they may respond. This interaction may result in a better experience and friendship. Keep PLURR alive! You also don’t know who you might meet!
