I Wanna Go Back to Decadence Arizona 2024
We are now a week in to the New Year, and as I welcome this new chapter, I’m filled with excitement and anticipation, but I can’t help but look back on this year and reflect on the incredible way 2024 came to a close at Decadence Arizona. This year’s Decadence was truly unforgettable. Surrounded by love, joy, and good vibes, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to ring in the New Year.

We started off day one strong, as we explored the venue and all its offerings. Once Wooli took the stage, our schedule quickly became a whirlwind of bouncing between the Grand Palace and Royal Ballroom, determined to catch all of our favorite artists. For Wooli’s set, we made our way pretty close to the front- we were close enough to get a perfect view of the lasers, but still feel the bass vibrating through our bodies. His set was nothing short of epic, and definitely was a highlight of the weekend for me.
After Wooli’s set, we caught a bit of Eptic b2b Space Laces before regrouping for Dom Dolla. On our way to the stage, I ran into a good friend I met at Coconino Campout back in September. It was such an amazing surprise to reconnect, and we spent a large portion of the night vibing and having so much fun together. She even made me a special kandi just in case we crossed paths, which was such a thoughtful and beautiful thing. Reuniting with friends from past events always adds an extra layer of magic to the experience.

The night of fun continued at Dom Dolla’s set, as the good vibes carried on and he had the whole crowd boppin’ to his beats. After watching some of Dom Dolla’s set, we bounced over to catch some of Svdden Death, who brought us heavy bass and dubstep. Even though sometimes his sets can feel a bit dark to me because of the visuals, I do love that heavier music so I was just headbanging the whole time and not paying attention to the visuals- allowing for me to still have fun while being able to listen to his set. I love all types of genres in edm, and house music is great, but sometimes I just need a heavier set in the mix, so after seeing some of Dom Dolla I was happy to rage at Svdden’s set. We wrapped up night one seeing Excision, whose sets never disappoint. I’ve already seen Excision multiple times this year, so it wasn’t anything new, but I love his music, and getting to throw down at his set was the perfect way to close out an unforgettable first day.
Day two rolled around, and the energy was at an all time high as were pumped for the New Year and excited to dive right back in. We got ready super quick because my best friend and I were getting our hair done at the Glamour Garden that was set up inside The Raceway! We made it right as doors were opening and rushed in to get our hair done. Getting my hair styled for a rave is always such a fun touch-it makes the whole experience feel more personal and adds another layer of fun to the outfit. If you’ve never gotten your hair done for a festival, I highly recommend it!

We of course had to take some pics before making our way over to see Zeds Dead, which was one of the sets I’d been most excited to see. Zed Dead never fails to deliver an awesome set, and I had an absolute blast dancing and singing my heart out to songs like, “Ecstasy of Soul”, “Collapse”, and “Lost You”. Zeds Dead is just that feel good music that speaks to my soul.
Right after Zeds Dead, Mau P brought a high energy tech house set that had everyone moving. My favorite moment was when he dropped “Cinema”, and of course the bass head in me was ecstatic that he played some OG Skrillex dubstep. After Mau P, we caught a bit of Dr. Fresch b2b Bijou before heading over to Crankdat b2b Riot Ten for their Dog Eat Dog set. Even though we only stayed for about 30 minutes, they were absolutely crushing it. We had such a blast headbanging and letting loose before running back over to the Grand Palace to see the ball drop during John Summit.
The ball drop at Decadence was absolutely magical of course. The energy in the room was unreal as he played “Go back”- it was the perfect song to ring in the New Year to. Everyone was singing so loud and I was surrounded by so much love and beauty and filled with so much happiness welcoming 2025 under a sea of lasers with my best friends. The cherry on top to such a beautiful moment was my boyfriend asking me out right as the clock struck midnight. <3

We soaked in the magic of the moment, staying at John Summit’s set for about 20 more minutes before heading over to see Sidepiece. They were easily my favorite house set of the weekend. They had the whole crowd movin’ and groovin’ and it was so much fun being in that high energy atmosphere right after ringing in the New Year. We were jumping around and dancing, making so many new friends, and beginning to feel the bittersweet feeling that Decadence was soon coming to a close. But before closing out the weekend, we got to end it by seeing Hol!. This was my first time seeing him and he brought such an insane set and we had so much fun listening to him just chop it up. I loved closing out the weekend with a high energy riddim set and having an absolute blast.
Decadence truly was the perfect way to close out a fantastic year. Having spent multiple New Year’s at this festival, this one will definitely stand out. I’m so thankful to have been surrounded by my beautiful best friends, listening and dancing to our favorite music together. There truly is no better way to ring in the New Year. Cheers to another magical year filled with great music and even greater people. I hope your New Year’s celebration was just as amazing as mine, and if not, well… I guess I’ll be seeing you next year at Decadence. 😉
