Homemade Spaceship – Electric Indigo

As a DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Homemade Spaceship has spent the last decade making an indelible mark on the Denver bass music scene. The Chicago-bred producer’s astral-inspired sonics and electro-soul performance style – which incorporate both the electric guitar and flute – has led to collaborations with soulful bass queen Maddy O’Neal and saxophone-wielding artist SoDown, in addition to taking the stage at festivals like Sonic Bloom and Electric Forest.

Now, listeners can get their first taste of the LP with lead single “Electric Indigo” – a spacey, vivacious track that catapults listeners into an otherworldly realm with its thumping, scintillating bass notes. Serving as the beginning of an intergalactic space expedition, this single represents a spaceship’s blast-off before making its way out of the Earth’s atmosphere, reminding listeners that, as Homemade Spaceship frequently states, “the only way to go is forward.”

Psyche – From Beyond

The year is 1989. Techno’s second generation has begun to permeate the globe leading a young Carl Craig to a tiny village in the countryside of Belgium. It is here, undistracted and determined to break out, that Craig encounters one of the country’s only drum machines, an Alesis controlled midi-808. In a single session he composes and mixes a handful of records that are still to this day regarded as some of his most raw and explosive contributions to the fabric of electronic music history.

Carl revisits this fateful chapter through the lens of a famed cut from his Psyche alias ‘From Beyond’, with a ‘C2 2023 Mix’ and remixes from Seth Troxler, Ataxia and Admn, out July 14 on Planet E Communications.

RYL0 – People Who Don’t Love Me

Popstar RYL0 is finally coming into full effect. Two years ago, the New Jersey-bred, LA-based singer-songwriter/producer brazenly titled herself a popstar to make clear her artistic philosophy: stardom is a character you can mold and play with, not a defined, destined archetype one must aspire to.

Following the release of her brooding, genre-blending mixtape FragmentsRYL0 is displaying her duality with the new single “People Who Don’t Love Me” – a euphoric, summery pop smash that catapults her into unprecedented sonic terrain. A collaboration with Katy Perry-signed producer/songwriter Matias Mora (CynK.FlayPVRISMiya FollickRebecca Black), Rina Sawayama-songwriter and Halsey-guitarist Vic Jamieson, and frequent-RYL0 collaborator Cary Singer (who also worked with Mora on the RYL0 track “Only 1 Trying“), “People Who Don’t Love Me” is an explosive, anthemic bop that is as catchy as it is relatable.
