Levity Brings The HEAT To Chicago!
A night of lasers, snow, and bouncy bass music. Levity’s Snow Day 2 went well, with the highlights being the opening set from Eazybaked and appearances from Griz and Crankdat.
I think the show would have sold out way quicker if the guest appearances had been made public prior to the show. After Levity’s set, there was a B2B2B that threw down the heaviest dubstep of the night, mainly due to Crankdat using the decks the most. GRiZ joining the team was epic as well. I would have liked to have seen him more involved.

The reportedly “record-breaking number of lasers” were amazing, especially since it was a 360-degree show. Shows with such production are better off utilizing the 360 stage design. The roughly 10 snow machines were a great touch, but did not produce a full-blown snow effect, but improvement for the future. Having snow/bubbles was the right move either way because it allowed the lasers to shine through, creating a magical effect.
Levity welcomed “the buffest guy in EDM” to the stage(Crankdat), and one of Levity’s members was lifting his shirt while on stage. I mention this because there was a growing number of shirtless men in the crowd who responded to the vibe.
The Levity set was great, and I think the crowd would agree. Transitions were good, the setlist was good, and the only con was the ever-changing volume, which leads me to believe they were playing with the trim knob to raise the volume of the songs they thought were the best. I would have liked to have seen Levity interact with the equipment more.
Sound inside stadiums never compares to old theaters or venues made for music, but the sound at Wintrust Arena, based on the laser setup, was pretty good. The audio and visual team deserves a pat on the back for that achievement.
One thing that surprised me about the show was that Richard Finger, known for SoundCloud riddim, did not play much riddim. They opted for a more bass-heavy set closely matching the Eazybaked and Levity style. Of course, this was purposeful to keep the vibe coherent and not scare off the crowd with Infekt level riddim, but let it be known to those new Richard Finger fans that you may not be walking into the set you thought you would hear.
Overall, I would say it was a great show, and fans left happy, especially after seeing the guests Griz and Crankdat. The lasers were amazing, but it was clear that the fans were most happy with the music, guests, and TikTokable moments as a whole. I hope Levity comes back for a Snow Day 3 and brings new original music as well as more local opener support, as they did during their Sunday pop-up with LYNY.
