Music, Art, Community, and Vibes At Hulaween
These are the 4 words I have seen the most when I search Hulaween Festival, whether it’s a Facebook post, Reddit thread, or article. Now I’m really curious about experiencing this festival. I have FINALLY crossed Electric Forest off the festival bucket list, and I may write another article about taking your tiny human to this festival. My sights are now on Hulaween. “The vibe” has been compared to Electric Forest, only better. Suwannee Music Park is, from my understanding, one of the best and most beautiful venues. There is some tea about a 360-stage experience called OFF LIMITS. I wonder what all this would entail. It would be an amazing opportunity to cover this festival on behalf of The Festival Voice. Either way, there will be a follow-up article, so please stay tuned!
I absolutely must highlight the fact that Hulaween is an independent festival, yet again. I couldn’t be more excited for them, so big YAAAY, for them. This feels like the power is back into the people’s hands instead of another LiveNation, if you know you know. If you don’t know, look into the LiveNation Taylor Swift ticket scandal. Sidenote: If it is happening to the swifties, what makes you think it’s not happening to the rave babes?
How can I express my interest in this lineup? It’s so overwhelming, in the best way possible. You get small-time, big-time, and jam-time artists. Also, speaking of another kind of artist, I wish I could see who is going to be showcasing their art and/or art installations. I guess it is one of those “when you get there you will know” cases.
I have to keep reminding myself I can’t be everywhere all at once. Yes, I know all too well there will be A LOT of scheduling conflicts and distractions that may occur. Let’s get into some of the artists I would like to see at Suwanee:
The String Cheese Incident, simply because their big shebang performance was rained out at Electric Forest. I need a redo… please, thank you.
The Bob Weir Incident, why wouldn’t I want to see one of the founding members of THE GREATFUL DEAD?! Also a DEBUT NONETHELESS.
Sublime, I am a millennial and I refuse to explain this one. LOL
Tipper I have yet to experience a Tipper set, and since he will be retiring from the scene, it only makes sense to attend this set. Plus my son is a huge fan of Tipper, so I will make this one happen for him <3
Of The Trees, I have only seen a snippet of his set during Decadence a couple of years ago and honestly, I want to hear more! Plus seeing his performance at RedRocks on Youtube is Chef’s Kiss.
CloZee, I have been on a CloZee kick for quite some time and I do not plan to stop any time soon. Slightly obsessed with her unique sound!
Liquid Stranger, ever since I attended WakaanRocks this year, I have been wanting to see him again. If you were there, I’m sure you’d understand.
Dirtwire, they just have a special place in my heart from when I first saw them at Sonic Bloom 2023. Ever since, I’ve been hooked by their live sound and the Native American performers that they bring upstage.
LP Giobbi, to remember good times, I just love every performance she gives great energy.
Dumpstaphunk, I escaped my family for a while to check them out at Electric Forest and I had a great time. It has a different sound and very funky, which can be an amazing thing to break away from the heavy bass and house music. If you want a bit of a palette cleanse..
Zingara, is another talent that I have been enjoying since DreamRocks 2023. Our troll queen… yes she collects trolls. Not that she trolls people, you know what I mean….
A Hundred Drums, Alleycvt, Cassian, Daily Bread, Disco Biscuits Eazybaked, Eggy, Justin Jay b2b Nala, Lettuce, Levity, Maddy O’Neal, Manic Focus, Moontricks, Phyphr, Ravenscoon, Taiki Nulight, The Sponges, and of course Walker and Royce. Just to name a few…ya know?
If someone told me that I had the opportunity to interview only one artist at Hulaween… I think that would be a no-brainer. My answer is Bob Weir, just wishful thinking. I cannot wait to see all your beautiful souls and vibe with those attending. Grab those tickets!
