Same Same But Different Kicks Off — Don’t Miss the Magic
Featuring LSDream’s Lightcode, CloZee’s Sunrise Set, Amplified Yoga, Good Society, and More
September 26–28 | Lake Perris, CA | ssbdfest.com
Last year, Same Same But Different blew me away. I loved floating on the lake while a DJ spun, sneaking off to Nakey Island for those secret sets, stumbling across wild art installations, and dancing into the sunrise. And now we’re just days away from doing it all again.
This year, SSBD runs September 26–28 at Lake Perris, with a Thursday pre-party (Sept 25) hosted by Good Society to kick things off. They’re bringing A Hundred Drums, sumthin sumthin, PHRVA, HERSHE, Lumasi and more, so the vibes will already be high before the gates even officially open.

Here’s what I’m hyped for this year:
- CloZee’s sunrise set: Last year’s sunrise was my favorite moment of the whole weekend, and this year it’s CloZee bringing her otherworldly bass as the sun comes up over the lake.
- Lightcode by LSDREAM: A meditative sound journey mixing music and healing energy. I can’t wait to hit this between dancefloor sessions and reset my whole system.
- Opiuo: Funky, glitchy, groovy… his sets are a nonstop ride.
- Nakey Island – Back by popular demand! Secret beaches, surprise DJ sets, and boat-only access. (Pro tip: grab the Nakey Island Passport for unlimited rides, it’s so worth it!)
- Grandma’s House – A plaid-riddled installation that brings all the comfort of your grandma’s house, a great place to decompress. But when grandma isn’t there… the haven becomes a dance floor. Add in Coconut Cove’s pirate-ship stage and the Creation Station for hands-on art, and this is shaping up to be the most playful, immersive SSBD yet!
- Hot air balloon rides – Yeah, you can literally float in a hot air balloon above the lake at sunset.
- Workshops – Laughter yoga, body painting, live looping, mosaic making, and a shuffle class are a few of the ones I’m most looking forward to checking out!
And of course, the little touches that make SSBD different: tying the knot at the Chapel of But, making kandi bracelets in the Family Garden, or just floating on the lake with your friends while the music drifts across the water.
The thing I love about SSBD is that it never feels crowded, since attendance is capped at 7,500. But with the festival kicking off with a pre-party tomorrow, that also means tickets are almost gone. If you’re on the fence, don’t wait. By Friday, you’ll be scrolling Instagram with FOMO while we’re out here dancing on the lake at sunrise.
I’ll be there. Grab your tickets now and come be part of the magic. See you on the beach!
