Slander Rocks Rawhide!

Slander at Rawhide this past Saturday was such a fun time. In all honesty, as a house girlie, I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it, but I’ve always loved SLANDER for their melodic dubstep. My friends and I were hyped, thinking we’d be crying to all the emotional bangers but they surprised us because their set was way harder than we expected. They still sprinkled in some melodic moments (Love Is GoneSuperhuman, Potions as always), but for the most part, it was straight-up heavy bass madness.

So little throwback fun fact: My friends and I actually got to meet Slander in Vegas at Zouk Nightclub, and that night was everything. They played continuous melodic dubstep with insane drops, and to this day, that will forever be my favorite performance from them. This weekend at Rawhide, was a totally different vibe. It felt like a new style for them with way more hard dubstep, way less of the emotional build-ups and vocals I usually love from them.

Now, let’s talk about the production because I was amazed. The stage setup was insane. They had this backdrop made up of a bunch of mini square screens that all came together to make one massive screen. It looked so cool and felt super different from what Relentless Beats usually does. The visuals were next level, and the whole setup made everything feel way more immersive. And honestly, huge shoutout to Relentless Beats they always do such a great job putting these events together, and this one was no exception. The entire setup, from the production to the organization, was on point as usual.

One of the coolest parts of the night was seeing the VIP security guard absolutely having the time of his life. This man was headbanging with us, fully committed to the moment, and we loved every second of it. Meeting a new security guard friend was not on my bingo card for the night, but it happened! That is the most beautiful part about raves, you’ll meet new friends no matter what.

Overall, 10/10 production, an unexpected setlist, and a night full of surprises. The crowd was wild from start to finish, and even though I was expecting a more emotional, melodic set, I still had an amazing time. If you get the chance to see Slander live, just know they’re gonna throw you right into the deep end and you’ll love every second of it.
