First Edition Of New Tomorrowland Festival In The French Alps Announced

Most festival aficionados have heard about Tomorrowland before: a legendary EDM festival taking place in the small town of Boom, Belgium every July. Many consider attending this event one of their life goals, and for good reason: always boasting a line-up filled with popular DJs from Belgium and the rest of the world, Tomorrowland takes the attendees on a magical journey through their ultra-detailed stage production spread throughout a beautiful park filled with small lakes and trees.

Much to the (delighted) surprise of the People of Tomorrow, a brand new edition of the festival has been announced earlier this week: Tomorrowland Winter, taking place in the French Alps from March 13 to March 15 2019.

The venue is actually a ski resort called Alpe D’Huez, and ticket packages will include not only entrance to the event but also lodging, a ski pass and access to The Gathering pre-party. 4-day packages will be on sale on September 15th, starting at EUR 685; 7-day packages will also be available, going on sale on September 8th starting at EUR 825 per person.

The whole resort and village of Alpe D’Huez will be reserved for Tomorrowland attendees with a valid wristband, turning the whole area into a raver’s perfect winter wonderland. Alpe D’Huez is a paradise for lovers of the great outdoors and is great for both skiers and adrenaline seekers as well as those who enjoy sledding, hiking and just taking long walks surrounded by beautiful Alpine scenery. Festival-goers will be able to explore the various stages by taking the ski lifts scattered around the plateau.

Every edition of Tomorrowland has a specific theme; according to the announcement video, the theme for the 1st edition of Tomorrowland Winter will be “The Hymn of the Frozen Lotus“.

The closest and/or most convenient airports to Alpe D’Huez are located in Grenoble (1.5 hours), Lyon (2 hours), Geneva (3 hours), or Paris (~5 hours).

Stay tuned for further information as it gets released!
