Wonderfront Is Truly A Wonder
Do you ever wonder what it would be life to experience a multi-genre music festival while also getting an experience exploring the city it lies within? Well, wonder no more because San Diego’s Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival is exactly that! Returning with one of the best lineups in its history, this one is a cant-miss for San Diego locals and travelers alike.
Located on San Diego’s waterfront from Friday, May 10th till Sunday, May 12th , this aptly named festival has an incredibly wide variety of genres and the opportunity to get single day tickets depending on your genre preferences. After the show is over, attendees can keep the party going as they are only walking distance from San Diego’s booming Gaslamp District, where there will be tons to do.
There are three stages that make up Wonderfront Festival are located at adjacent parks on the waterfront at Rocco Park, Seaport Village, and Embarcadero North. Each one with its own unique spin on things and with enough space between the stages to prevent any sound leakage.
Friday kicks off with a whole bevvy of incredible acts, including Channel Tres, Surf Mesa, Paris Texas, Dayglow, Joey Bada$$, T-Pain and MK. Closing out the day are two top tier talents with Kaytranada and JID…what a start to the weekend!!
Not to be outmatched, Saturday comes in hot with appearances by Poolside, BadBadNotGood, Milk Chance, Carly Rae Jepsen, Dominic Fike and Weezer. Definitely a more acoustic vibe for day 2 but still bringing the heavy hitters. If that wasn’t enough, Action Bronson also has a performance of his “Dr Bachlava and the Human Growth Hormone” act to make things even more exciting.
Wonderfront also has a lot of things to do outside of just the music. Partnering with Seaforth Rentals, attendees can rent boats, wave-runners, sailboats, and more to ride the water around the San Diego Bay. There will also be many art installations across the festival grounds, so you can get your art on beyond just the musical side of things. As mentioned before, this festival is located right by San Diego’s bustling Gaslamp District and attendees will be able to explore a ton of the city without much walking needed. There will be afterparties galore, so much so that attendees will not have time to reach them all so make sure to look up and see where your time would best be spent!
Regarding travel accommodations, there will be no camping at the venues so attendees would be wise to book their hotels or Airbnb’s sooner rather than later. To make things easier for attendees, Wonderfront offers many different packages that can include hotel room stays and more. Parking is very available in many different lots downtown and Uber/Lyft accommodations are in place to make transportation easy for everybody.
For VIP, Wonderfront is offering an incredible set of VIP packages, not only for all three days but also for each individual day. Just like the normal tickets, attendees will be able to come and go as they please, with no restrictions on entry and exit like most festivals implement.
