Your outfit is an important expression of yourself and your dream weekend that you’ve spent months imagining. Many aspects go into making the perfect festival outfit. Without further ado, let’s get straight to Part 1 of this Look Book.

Eclectic Mushroom

Eclectic Mushroom is a Latino-owned small rave brand that hails from Southern California. What began as a small creative endeavor to create some beautiful accessories for some close friends going to Electric Forest in 2022, grew into a well-nourished brand that consistently produces new ears. Since its beginning, every item from Eclectic Mushroom has been handmade by Stephanie and each pair of ears takes around 5 hours to complete. She makes 3 distinct variations of ears aside from their classic cat ears:

Body Part

So called “Body Part” ears were born when Stephanie designed the “Cat Ears With Ears” in the summer of 2023. Cat Ears with Body Parts have additional body parts of their relative animals that elevate the ears by creating a variation in their shape. They also look adorable.

Shakers

Shakers are some of Eclectic Mushroom’s most coveted ears. This style has been a dream of Stephanie’s since the beginning of her brand. Their intricate design and tedious creative process make them some of her most labor intensive items.

Bunny Ears

Bunny Ears are a recent and rare addition to the Eclectic Mushroom line. They are extravagant and majestic with more room for creative expression. Their designs are some of the most intricate and full from this brand.

Aside from these variations, Eclectic Mushroom makes many different styles of classic cat ears.

Rave Inspired

Some of these ears are inspired by the rave community itself. In the photos below, image 3 is inspired by EDC’s Cosmic Meadow, and image 4 is inspired by Kinetic Field. Eclectic Mushroom has other designs that highlight the rave culture in the EDM community.

Icons

Some of their ears are inspired by pop culture icons that we hold close to our hearts, like Scooby Doo, Queen of Hearts, Studio Ghibli and more.

Artist

Some of their ears are inspired by EDM artists. These ears combine the artist’s logo or other imagery with complementing colors to create various combinations.

OddBody Oddities

Ingrid the Mad Hatter

OddBody Oddities is a fairly new brand founded by Ingrid about 3 years ago. Ingrid began her brand journey by making small acrylic trinkets like keychains and necklaces, her craft quickly grew to produce some of the most unique and whimsical accessories I’ve ever seen. OddBody Oddities offers a range of different hats and a new range of Squishmallow Cuffs! Not only is every item handmade by Ingrid but the patterns of each unique creation are also designed by her alone. She is quite the Mad Hatter!

Plushrooms

The items that established OddBody Oddities as a prime-time rave fashion brand are Ingrid’s beautiful Plushrooms. Plushrooms are giant, squishy mushroom hats. But they’re more like a wearable pillow. The Plushrooms are very durable and maintain their squish without collapsing or getting flat. They’re like a stunning weighted blanket for your head. Each Plushroom is made to order and customizable to your image. When designing your Plushroom, you are able to customize the interior fabric, base fabric, and the design for your spots. I chose to add swirls to my spots for an additional fee. Ingrid has made Plushrooms with fluffy fabric, dangling charms, chrome detailing, and so many other unique features. “Unique” is usually an unsuitable term when it comes to describing most things, but not with these Plushrooms. Each and every one of these beautiful fungal creations is truly one-of-a-kind. This is the best purchase I have made in preparation for a festival. Not only is it a great conversation starter with new friends, but it’s also the most comfortable accessory to accompany long festival nights.

Knitted Bucket Hats

Ingrid has a couple of different styles in which she makes plush, knitted bucket hats. One of which is her twist on the sprout frenzy in the rave world. These charming Sprout Hats are a soft, warm hug on your head. They’re a subtle and adorable addition to your rave outfit. A close variation of the Sprout Hats is a new design, the Strawberry Hats. Another one of Ingrid’s knitted bucket hat designs is the Jelly Jam Hats. Available in 6 different color patterns, Ingrid has brought our SpongeBob nostalgia to life. These Jelly Jam Hats, inspired by the jellyfish that decorated our childhoods, are silly and adorable in every amazing way. Following the nostalgia train, Ingrid has also designed 2 different styles of Monster Hats inspired by our favorite scare professionals

Squishy Cuffs

One of the newest additions to OddBody Oddities is the portable, squishy friend of your rave dreams. Through intricate squishmallow surgery, Ingrid makes these lovable Squishmallow Cuffs. Available in every style you can imagine, these Squishmallow Cuffs are a special addition to your rave wardrobe.

Scoodies

In the colder festival months, I’ve noticed that fluffy hoods with scarves started making a frequent appearance. Although these hoods have been around for a while, their popularity has inspired new styles to flourish. Hoods of various colors, styles, and textures can be seen across crowds in fall and winter festivals everywhere. Although there are many creators making these hoods, I’ve collected a few that are popular among the community as well as some others I think are beautiful and unique.

Spirit Hoods

Spirit Hoods is a brand that’s been in business for years. Their products are made with 100% fake fur and 10% of their proceeds are donated to conserve endangered animals and their habitats. Their fluffy animal hoods come in a variety of designs. Although they have other animal-inspired hoods aside from the images below, they don’t carry many colorful or eccentric designs. However, their hoods are some of the best quality in the game. They are thick, plush, and very well made.

Scummy Bears

Scummy Bears is a very well-known festival fashion brand. They frequently collaborate with artists like Sullivan King, Wooli, and others. They carry a few different styles of fluffy bear hoods; the black and white classic, the pastel tie-dye “Unicorn”, and the Hi I’m Ghost collab. These hoods have cute little claws added to the gloves.

The Lumi Shop

The Lumi Shop carries a few different kinds of hoods. However, their color-changing LED hood is truly stunning. The perfect addition to your outfit that will keep you cozy and glowing.

Devil Inspired

Devil Inspired is an online fashion brand inspired by Lolita fashion. Their store carries so much more than hoods. But their hoods are some of my favorite.

They have 3 different styles of bunny hoods. The black shaggy one is stunning, and the pierced hood is a twist available in 2 colors. The classic bunny hat is available in 6 different pastel colors.

These monster-inspired hats are some of my favorite ones I’ve discovered. I’m in love with their cute style and how different each design is. One thing about these hoods is that they have a built-in scarf that can be pulled up to work as a face cover.

Etsy

Although these bigger brands have great options, some of my favorites are from Etsy. There are countless other creators on Etsy that aren’t shown here. These are just a few that really stuck out to me.

Electro Paws

Electro Paws is Sabrina’s Etsy shop that’s been run out of Los Angeles since 2020. A raver herself, Sabrina’s handmade hoods stand out—especially the Subtronics and Pikachu-inspired ones.

BolliImports

BolliImports is a small business from Canada that carries various fashion items on its Etsy shop, and among those are fluffy hoods. They have some of my favorite color combinations among these different brands and this adorable Charmander-inspired one.

NerdFreakinTastic

NerdFreakinTastic is run out of North Carolina by Breanna. These hoods are truly adorable. Different from all other hoods you might have seen, these ones are inspired by beautiful birds. Aside from the classic bird, wolf or bear-inspired ones, they also carry a few Pokemon-inspired hoods; this Umbreon/Espeon-inspired one is my favorite of them.

WisewoofSpiritfloofs

WisewoofSpiritfloofs is a brand out of Canada by Jade. Jade’s hoods and shawls might be my favorite purely for their creative variety. They are stunning and most can be customized; you can add a tail, secret pocket, or ears. You can also make a completely custom order too.
