Eli 07- 15 Miles

I’m an 18-year-old artist from Berrien Springs, Michigan. When growing up, you could find 6-year-old me sitting next to the radio flipping through channels and listening to everything that I possibly could. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say “A Superstar”. It wasn’t until late into my junior year of high school that I started making music. It all started when my friends and I were bored and tried to make a song for fun. I realized I really enjoyed doing this and continued with the best dude in all of Berrien Springs. My friend Felipe Navia! I would record a track and then send it to Felipe to edit the vocals. 6 months into making music people were feelin’ the music and we got addicted to just creating. I started posting on TikTok regularly and gained the attention of many different people. In my senior year of high school, I accepted that music was what drove me and what I wanted to do with my life. Just recently I signed a record deal with an great indie label and I’m excited to see what comes next.

Ging, the solo project of the artist formerly known as Frank Dukes, unveils his debut album, We’re Here, My Dear, today.

Of the album, Ging says:
An ode to a love that’s free. The type of love with space to start as one thing and become something new altogether. This is an ode to the woman I once married and the family we started together. As we stand before the remains of what we once called our marriage, something beautiful and new emerges. A new commitment, a commitment to truth. And even if that truth shatters every idea of what we thought we were, we honor it. We honor our love. To all that has led us to this very moment…
We’re here my dear.

Maraschino- Smoke & Mirrors

Maraschino’s last single, “Smoke & Mirrors,” plays on that wryness—Durabo’s sing-song vocals coagulate around a slowly arpeggiating synth line that wouldn’t sound out of place on a rare Moroder-sound Italo-disco record. She sings about fame and how those seeking it are sacrificed at the altar of the entertainment industrial complex. It’s about technology, and how the democratization of it has allowed everyone on earth to participate in the popularity charade—the whole world’s in high school—and how those who are adept and talented at it are rewarded (by the media companies algorithmic taunts) with great riches and personal brands that feed the cycle. All this is at the expense of humanity and true connection—ergo our mental health—where we are seduced by our ids to project an idealized version of ourselves at the expense of our true selves. The contrasts between the truth and what we’re told—our own truth and what we tell others—is just the norm now. The distinction between truth and fiction? It’s almost irrelevant, because we’ve lost track of who we are. It’s all, in the end, smoke and mirrors.

Today he shares the last single off the EP before release, the dissonant and hard-hitting “Live Nude Pigs” which features Paul Leary and Fake Legs.  Brooks shares, “this song was originally a collaboration between me and the band Fake Legs. When we decided to add it to my record, I reached out to Paul Leary to see if he’d lay down some guitar and vocals. His unique guitar style really shines on this tune. I can’t believe I got him to bark the way he does on this song too, trading lines with one of my favorite barkers, Matt Cronk, from Cunts, Qui and Fake Legs.”

Sunny Lax- Emerald EP

The next chapter of Sunny Lax’s storied career begins with his ‘Emerald EP’, out now on Anjunabeats.

One of our most beloved artists, Levente Márton, aka Sunny Lax, has been part of our family since ‘P.U.M.A / Cassiopeia’ in 2006. “Back in those days you had to send CDs to labels in the post,” Márton says. “I sent ‘Cassiopeia’ and ‘P.U.M.A’ to nine or ten different labels, and Anjuna loved them.” Above & Beyond played ‘P.U.M.A’ four times in a row on their Trance Around The World radio show, and Armin van Buuren subsequently made ‘P.U.M.A’ the Record Of The Week and featured it on his ASOT Yearmix Album in 2005. A star was born.

Tom Snowdon- Flood at the Heart

Tom Snowdon releases his first solo original work with two-track Flood at the Heart

Empty Start‘ is about the need for renewal, about needing to leave things behind in order to make room for new places, new friends, new inspiration. It throbs with an ominous intensity that breaks in the chorus with an ever rising melody. ‘Protection‘ stumbles along in an unfamiliar time signature, seeking solid ground, seeking clarity. Instrumentally it echoes the landscape of Snowdon‘s home of Mparntwe / Alice Springs – rugged and powerful, but gentle and delicate too.

Young Culture- You Had To Be There

Equal Vision Records and New York-based pop-punk trio Young Culture are excited to announce the release of You Had To Be There, the band’s brand new full-length album (stream and purchase HERE). Recorded with Anton DeLost (State Champs, Silverstein, Mayday Parade) in Toronto, ON, it feels like the trio — vocalist Alex Magnan and guitarists Gabe Pietrafesa and Troy Burchett — are coming down from the lovestruck high of a year ago marked by the band’s Godspeed EP. Although similarly dramatic with catchy surges of unabashed emotion, You Had To Be There features a melancholy rush of energy with shadows that lurk within the foundations of these 10 songs.
