Artist Biography
The Runarounds are the high‑energy American alt‑rock quintet forged out of a unique intersection of real‑world musicianship and television storytelling, driven by guitar‑hook precision, emotive vocal interplay, and the restless spirit of youthful rock ‘n’ roll. The band — comprised of Axel Ellis (guitar/vocals), Jesse Golliher (bass/vocals), Jeremy Yun (lead guitar), William Lipton (guitar/vocals), and Zende Murdock (drums) — was formed in Wilmington, North Carolina, through a competitive open casting call initiated for a TV project before quickly evolving into a legitimate touring group blending raw indie rock energy with tightly structured arrangements that balance punchy riffs, cathartic choruses, and lyrical anthems about friendship, escape, and self‑discovery. After cutting their teeth with weekly beach bar residencies, coast‑to‑coast college and festival gigs, and a sold‑out headlining tour, the band’s technical command coalesced on The Runarounds Live at USC — produced by Talking Heads’ Jerry Harrison — and their original soundtrack work for their Amazon Prime series, where dynamic production, visceral performance instincts, and road‑shaped songwriting converge to make their sound feel simultaneously nostalgic and imminently current, all captured through raw live energy and festival‑ready anthems that resonate with audiences.
