Artist Biography

Osees is the relentlessly prolific American rock collective anchored by guitarist, vocalist, and chief songwriter John Dwyer, whose visionary approach has transformed what began in 1997 as a home‑recording project into one of modern underground rock’s most expansive and technically adventurous entities. Originating in San Francisco and now based in Los Angeles, the band has cycled through names like Orinoka Crash Suite, OCS, Thee Oh Sees, and now Osees while releasing an astonishing catalog that spans over twenty‑eight studio albums, each showcasing a fearless fusion of garage rock, psych‑infused krautrock rhythms, punk energy, noise rock textures, and post‑punk angularity. Dwyer’s production ethos — whether in raw, visceral punk workouts like A Foul Form or sprawling, groove‑oriented explorations that incorporate elements of folk, metal, and experimental structures — is driven by a DIY ethos and ceaseless creative momentum, with layered guitars, driving dual‑drum attack, off‑kilter synth and keyboard interplay, and a visceral live intensity that has made the band a cult favorite across global underground circuits and massive festival fields alike.
