Artist Biography

Wolfmother is the Australian hard‑rock powerhouse that rose from Sydney’s vibrant early‑2000s rock circuit to international acclaim by fusing vintage‑inspired riffcraft with primal energy and modern production — a sound steeped in the swagger of 1970s heavy rock yet sharpened by contemporary punch. Formed in 2004 by vocalist and guitarist Andrew Stockdale alongside bassist/keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett, the band’s self‑titled 2005 debut album landed at No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and eventually went multi‑platinum, propelled by anthems like “Woman” (which won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance) and “Joker and the Thief,” tracks built on thunderous grooves, blistering guitar tones, and Stockdale’s soaring vocals. Over decades of touring and lineup evolution, Wolfmother’s recordings and live shows have echoed the spirit of classic rock icons while pushing their own hard edge forward — from immersive studio sessions with producer Dave Sardy to festival main stages around the globe — making them a bridge between rock’s storied past and its high‑voltage present. Andrew Stockdale remains the only original member today, keeping the legacy of this astounding rock band alive.
