Artist Biography

Big Gigantic is the Boulder, Colorado–based electronic duo whose fusion of live instrumentation and bass-driven production has helped define the modern “livetronica” landscape through a precise balance of musicianship and festival-scale energy. Formed in 2008 by saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken, the project emerged from a shared background in jazz performance and live band culture, translating improvisational instincts into a hybrid framework where analog instruments sit atop digitally engineered beats. Early releases like Fire It Up and Nocturnal established their signature sound—horn-led melodies layered over hip-hop, funk, and EDM rhythms—while later albums such as Brighter Future and Free Your Mind expanded their sonic architecture through high-profile collaborations and more intricate production design, earning chart success and widespread festival bookings. Technically defined by Lalli’s expressive saxophone lines, Salken’s dynamic percussion, and tightly structured electronic sequencing, Big Gigantic constructs compositions that bridge improvisation and precision, translating seamlessly into high-energy live performances that merge DJ culture with full-band execution and position the duo as a cornerstone act within contemporary electronic music’s evolution.
