Sunflower Sound System for their First Time at Head Trip Festival
The Head Trip and Floating Points have announced the artist lineup for the US debut of Sunflower Sound System on October 10- 11 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Sunflower Sound System has brought together sonic innovators, selectors, and producers including Avalon Emerson, Mad Professor, and Theo Parrish, all acclaimed producers and collaborators for expansive sets.
Avalon Emerson is an acclaimed DJ and producer who ranges across different genres and eras. Ben UFO, co-founder of the influential Hessle Audio label, is one of is known for his diverse style. Eris Drew & Octo Octa are partners who bring high, bouncy sounds to the sets. Four Tet, a longtime Floating Points collaborator, blends organic textures into his productions. Along with Mad Professor, who brings dub reggae to the performance. Theo Parrish, founder of the Sound Signature label out of Detroit, is known for his diverse sounds from house, soul, jazz, funk, disco, and the wider continuum of Black music. Zach Cowie, an Emmy-nominated music curator, rounds out the weekend with a crate-digging set.

The festival will also have Fisher, Chris Lake, DJ Harvey, and others performing. Fisher is the Australian tech-house DJ and producer known for festival-ready, high-energy sets and viral hits. Alongside him is Chris Lake, British producer and DJ, a longtime pillar of tech-house, celebrated for his meticulous production, forward-thinking club edits, and steady run of underground anthems. DJ Harvey will also play, a LA-based selector revered for deep, eclectic, and endlessly groovy sets. Along with the Blessed Madonna, an American DJ, producer, and curator celebrated for her sets that span disco, house, and funk, with her eclectic taste, joyful energy, and acclaimed club edits and remixes.
There will be no overlaps, as all will be performing on one main stage, so attendees can listen to the Sunflower Sound System artists as well as some of the masterful EDM performers.
Moreover, designed by Floating Points or Sam Shepherd, Sun Flower Sound System is a custom-built hi-fi environment Shepherd developed. At Head Trip, the festival takes shape in an acoustically treated and paneled dome, with ten custom speaker stacks arranged in a circle for the audience to create a great sound experience. Tapestries and original artwork designed by artist and DJ Josephine Chime will be exhibited as well. Alongside, the debut of the “Cosmosphere,” a giant mechanical mirrorball designed to bloom above the room as the music builds.
