Beyond Wonderland Chicago Is Back!
After a successful inaugural year at Northerly Island, Beyond Wonderland Chicago is back again. This year ravers from all over the country will touch down in the city to dance the weekend away on June 7- 8. Last year was a grand time and we can’t wait to go back. Getting There
Getting to Chicago is easy with access to two airports and the Amtrack system. Book your accommodation early to get a good price. We recommend checking South Look or near McCormick for easy access to both public transport and the venue.
Speaking of public transportation, CTA will be your best friend when it comes to getting to Northerly Island. With limited parking, you should carpool or take the bus over to the island by using the Ventra app or your Apple Wallet. These buses are also available after the festival to safely get you heading to your afters of choice.
The Venue
Northerly Island serves as a perfect location for a festival of Beyond Chicago’s size. With enough space to fit 4 unique stages, ravers can enjoy the iconic skyline as they dance the night away. This manmade island is right on the lakefront which provides a glorious breeze on those sweltering days. Similarly, that breeze can turn bitter if the rain comes in so be prepared. We recommend renting a locker to store a sweatshirt and some extra sunscreen in for the weekend. Last year the grounds became soft and muddy making the trek from stage to stage a bit more daunting but the music was well worth it. With plenty of art installations and activations, meeting up with your friends will be a breeze.
Another Stacked Lineup
Beyond Wonderland offers an incredible opportunity to explore many corners of EDM across its four diverse stages. With huge names like Illenium and Subtronics, crowds will flock to see their favorite artists throughout the weekend. A heavy dose of DNB will be served up with sets like Culture Shock b2b Aeon:Mode, Wilkinson, and Basstripper. Bass lovers will gather to experience the insane energy of Nikita, The Wicked, Crankdat, and Level Up. Dancing machines will strap on their best shoes to boogie at the sets of house royalty like Green Velvet and Gene Farris and so many more incredible artists. Insomniac took their time making sure there was a little something for everyone to enjoy this weekend.
Things to Keep in Mind
Chicago weather in June reared its ugly head last year so ravers will wish for clearer skies this year as they make their way down the rabbit hole again. It’s best to be prepared ahead of time for both sweltering heat and comfy shoes for trudging through the mud if rain strikes again. SPF is always a must and you definitely need some rainboots nearby!
