$uicideboy$

Artist Biography

$uicideboy$ is a rap duo from New Orleans that blends hip-hop with punk and the occult. Before they became $uicideboy$ in 2014, the duo of Ruby da Cherry and Scrim grew up together as white kids in predominantly black neighborhoods. Ruby originally dabbled in punk rock while Scrim focused on being a DJ and songwriter. After teaming up, the result was a dark blend of horrorcore glitch-trap with booming bass and occultist, drugged-out rhymes. They got signed to G59 Records and released the ten-part series Kill Your$elf. By 2016, $uicideboy$ already played SXSW and international shows with nearly 30 full-lengths released within two years.  In 2019, the duo released I Want to Die in New Orleans which landed number nine on the Billboard 200. The next year $uicideboy$ started their 45th project Stop Staring at the Shadows. In 2021, they released Long-Term Effects of Suffering which debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200.
