Who are Mono Means One?
John Ferrara, the bassist from Consider the Source and easily one of the top bassists in the world, has a side project called Mono Means One. This project originally consisted of just John playing bass using loop pedals and has now blossomed into a full band with drummer Rob Madore and keyboardist Isaac Young (both of PX3) accompanying him. Their debut album, Listless Playthings of Enormous Forces, was released on May 10th of this year. The album title references Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five about how agency is lost in war. It was recorded in a yurt that was transformed into a recording studio within two days. The yurt was at the Lakeside Retreats in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mono Means One has been dropping jaws along the East Coast with their instrumental progressive and psychedelic music. Their music composition is truly extraordinary, which translates to insanely magical live shows.
