Dancing Under The Big Sky

We’re ready to get back in the saddle for the fifth edition of Under The Big Sky! This epic rodeo festival will take place over the course of three days in the panoramic 360-acre Big Mountain Ranch in Whitefish, MT on July 12-14, 2024. Once again, this festival will feature diverse acts from stars across many genres including Americana, Outlaw country, rock, indie-folk, and bluegrass music. Headlining performances include the legendary icon Miranda Lambert, and the return of Billy Strings and Turnpike Troubadours.

We’re talking about heading up North, as the festival is only 30 miles south of the Canadian Border. It will happen in Flathead Valley only minutes away in the heart of Whitefish’s charming downtown village, attendees will immerse themselves in the rich beauties of the American West on a working ranch with green meadows, railroads, and breathtaking backdrops. The vending options will be unique and there’s even a tattoo shop. Attendees can indulge in local, artisanal eats like the popular Wagyu Wagon food truck that caters to locally raised beef from the area. Other fun family attractions include horse rides and an adorable petting zoo.

The festival headliners include country music superstar, Miranda Lambert; one of the most much-buzzed-about returns of Americana roots’ leading acts Turnpike Troubadours; and the GRAMMY award-winning bluegrass strings musician, Billy Strings. Complementing the headliners include noteworthy talent like 2023 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, Tanya Tucker; country music duo, Brothers Osborne; spellbinding singer/songwriter, Sierra Ferrell; the larger-than-life baritoned, Paul Cauthen; and the ruggedly raw American country-folk musician, Charles Wesley Godwin. Rounding out the lineup is tenderhearted Canadian singer, songwriter City & Colour, and the American five-piece indie rock band, Mt. Joy, plus many others.

Under The Big Sky will continue to lead the charge by providing a stage to showcase local talent in the area such as Archertown, Badger Hound, Tomara, Miller Campbell, Denim Gold; along with Bozeman-based artists like Abby Webster and Madeline Hawthorne; and Missoula’s favorite sweethearts, The Lil Smokies.

The festival will continue working with the Whitefish Credit Union to recognize and honor resident heroes within to community and take the time to donate to the local food bank. In addition to all the good already done within the community, the festival will continue itss partnership with Save Farmland, a nonprofit organization with a mission to protect and promote small farms in Montana. With the continuation of this partnership, the goals remain the same, to create awareness and raise proceeds for its various programs through on-site merchandise sales throughout the weekend.

Under The Big Sky is open for all ages to attend, with children under six given free entry. Both GA and VIP 3 day tickets will go on sale Friday, December 8th at 12PM MT.
