Dreamville Was A Dream Come True
Dreamville was a dream come true! The festival went down in North Carolina and was led by J. Cole- and let me tell you, the festival was what dreams are made of! There were over 100,000 people in attendance throughout the weekend and this included attendees from all 50 US States and 23 different countries! Talk about some dedicated fans!
Dreamville fans were treated to some of the biggest names in music today as well as some huge up and coming artists. Everything was curated by the man J. Cole himself! It was AWESOME!
While everything was beyond perfect, J. Cole had some excitement up his sleeves to close out the festival. He ended up sharing a never-before-seen collaborative festival concert with Drake and surprise guests Lil Wayne, 21 Savage, and Lil Uzi Vert – all of which collectively offered festival-goers the concert of a lifetime headlined by two of the most acclaimed and accomplished performers of this generation.
Dreamville Festival also included some stellar performances from superstars such as USHER, whose energetic set included a first-ever live festival performance of his smash hit “Good Love” with female rap duo City Girls among a medley of hits from his 20+ year illustrious career; and Burna Boy’s larger-than-life Day 2 music performance. Additional notable highlights include Summer Walker’s live announcement of her new upcoming EP, Clear 2:Soft Life while inviting labelmate 6lack to perform alongside her; a guest appearance from Ayra Starr during Bas’ set and more.
The two-day party was a rare reunion for people signed with Dreamville Records with artists such as Ari Lennox, Bas, J.I.D, EarthGang, Cozz and Omen, plus Lute who hails from nearby Charlotte – nearly all of whom joined J. Cole onstage for Sunday’s grand finale.
The festival continues to bring fans together each spring for a cultural party that also helps the local economy with a multi-million dollar economic impact. North Carolina is a beautiful state and attendees got to revel in the beautiful weather.
In addition to the music itself, fans were able to truly immerse themselves in the experience with site-wide art installations, shop local vendors, learn more about nonprofits in the area, enjoy marching band performances, and ride the beautiful Ferris Wheel that allowed you to glimpse the beauty that is Raleigh.
Prior to the festival opening its gates on Friday, Dreamville and Amazon Music collaborated to host a day-long educational conference at the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh that allowed attendees to learn about music production, songwriting, and promotion.
The festival team would also like to thank and show appreciation to all the 2023 partners and sponsors who helped make this year’s event possible including Rotation on Amazon and Amazon Music, who once again exclusively live-streamed the two-day event to fans throughout the world; as well as about-face, Bacardi, Everything Legendary, Google Pixel, Lemon Perfect, Monster Energy, Patron Tequila, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Starry, Smirnoff Ice, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Vistaprint, and Visit Raleigh. Proceeds from this year’s event will go on to support charity partners, the Dreamville Foundation and Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy.
