Get Ready for Electric Forest!!

Get Ready for Electric Forest By Juliet See and Hannah Falls

Listen up people!! We are 15 days out from Electric Forest. You heard that right… 15 days away from Electric Forest. If you’re like us then right now you’re probably bouncing off the walls with excitement as you finalize your packing lists, order your supplies, and get ready for what’s going to be an adventure of a lifetime. This is actually going to be both our first times at Electric Forest and we are so beyond excited! Each of us has camped at other festivals before though and we also have been given tons of advice and great information about Forest. So we’ve compiled a list of everything we think would be helpful in packing for EF and camping there! Also, make sure you check out our complete playlist of the weekend!

The Camping Essentials:

Tent: A sturdy tent is crucial to protect yourself when camping at a festival. If you want to be extra boujee you can get a more high-quality tent with proper ventilation and waterproofing. Ensure the tent is large enough for the amount of people sleeping in the tent.

Canopy: You may want to pitch your tent under the canopy for extra protection as well as have extra shade space for your campsite

Sleeping Gear: A sleeping bag, sleeping mat, and small pillow (squishmellow) are essential. If you can afford a cot or an air mattress these are great alternatives for added comfort.

Lighting: Pack a headlamp, flashlights, or battery powered string lights to illuminate your surroundings. It will get very dark and you will need light at your camp during nighttime.

Portable Chargers: I always bring at least two portable chargers when camping. Consider investing in a solar powered charger that also has a flashlight.

Hygiene: Pack a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, biodegradable soap, hand sanitizer, and wet wipes. You can bring a portable shower with a pop up tent or bath alternative wipes for a quick cleanse.

WATER: Although the festival will provide water for you, do not forget to bring water jugs/bottles to your campsite for extra hydration.

Food: Pack non-perishable snacks including fruits and protein bars as well as canned food or cup of noodles for post festival cravings! Also investing in a portable camping stove to cook meals will really help with saving money on festival food.

Sun Protection: Do not forget sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses!!

First Aid Kit: Pack a comprehensive first aid kit filled with essentials including bandages, gauze, alcohol wipes, pain relievers, insect repellent, and any necessary medications.

Footwear: Choose your comfiest sneakers or boots for walking and dancing on all terrain. You will be walking a lot from the camp to the festival and will need comfortable shoes all 5 days.

Mini backpack/Hydration pack: You will need something to carry essentials like water, sunscreen, and snacks while exploring the festival grounds.

Clothing: When camping you should always prepare for varying weather conditions by packing layers, including both lightweight clothes and warmer jackets for cooler nights.

Personal Items: Don’t forget necessities like your ID, debit cards, festival wristband, and phone.

The Non- Essentials (that we think will elevate your experience)

Speaker: An easy way to get the party started as you get ready and hangout before going into the festival!

Lounging areas: Bringing items such as blow up couches and camping chairs will make it easier to do things like your makeup, eat, chill etc.

Decorative items: Tapestries, rugs, mats, fun lights to help make your campsite feel more like a home and bring some fun into it!

Massage Tools: Investing in a massage gun for the festival will be life-changing especially if you are a headbanger. After hours of walking your feet will feel so much better if you gave them a massage! You can also bring a foam roller for stretching your muscles.

Mirror: A body length mirror comes in handy for doing makeup or taking cute campsite pictures. You can also purchase a light up travel vanity mirror for makeup in the dark.

Fans/Cooling: If you’re someone who gets hot very quickly you can invest in large battery powered box fans or even hand held fans to keep cool. Cooling towels are also great to keep on hand if you overheat at festivals often.

Trinkets/Kandi: Always having items to trade will guarantee that you will make new friends and be able to express love towards others in a fun way!

Totems: Creating a totem for your group is an easy way to ensure you can stay together throughout the festival and always find each other if people leave the group. Light up totems are the easiest to spot throughout the festival but you can customize them however you want!

Hopefully, these lists helped you in finalizing what to bring, and making sure you don’t leave anything behind! Just remember, don’t bring anything you wouldn’t want to lose, get damaged, or leave behind. But don’t stress, because the Forest will provide 😉 We can’t wait to be united with all of you beautiful people in the legendary Sherwood Forest <3
