Hulaween is on the Horizon

The best of the best is back this year, and all Hulaweiners are waiting with bated breath. Hulaween is officially on the horizon! This 4-day mystical, magical fest is one of the staples of the Southeastern scene and was very dearly missed last year while the great festival drought was going on. The festival will come alive in Live Oak, FL at the Spirit of Suwanee Music Park from Oct. 28-31. Beware: the festival is sold out, but you can still request, exchange, and transfer tickets through Lyte.

Another viable option for snagging a spot at Hula is to apply to be a volunteer. Applications have officially opened and know that volunteers will likely have to present proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test or have to take a test upon festival entry. ALL festival guests are also required to sign a liability waiver which includes certain precautions that are suggested for the duration of the festival.

Here are the links for Lyte, the volunteer application, and the COVID waiver:

The line-up this year is worthy of the comeback: Skrillex, Leon Bridges, Chris Lake, Jungle… This list goes on and on, all punctuated by those sweet, sweet three nights of The String Cheese Incident.

And on top of all the music, art and creativity abound around the festival. Enter the ethereal Spirit Lake to see ambient light shows and sculptures as big as a house. The last year the festival was held, there were fire dancers, murals so psychedelic we got lost for hours, and even a little teepee where a man would write a personalized poem for you live in front of you.

And beyond all that beauty, are the grounds themselves. Lush and loving, the forest that encompasses the grounds seem to embrace you and urge you onward, sheltering you when necessary and shepherding you on to the next adventure when it’s time.

Infused within and throughout it all is the amazing sense of community shared by all festival-goers. There’s an awe that comes over all of us surrounded by nature and the arts that we can see in each other’s eyes and feel nothing but connection for. If you’re looking for a festival with real spirit, Hulaween is ready to take you to the other side. This festival is finally on the horizon!
