I Was Lost In Dreams

This past weekend, July 12th and 13th, I found myself transported into a vibrant, musical wonderland at the Lost in Dreams Festival. Held at the iconic LA State Historic Park, the festival was an unforgettable experience, with an impressive lineup and thoughtful accommodations that set it apart from other local fests.

**A Historic and Spacious Venue**

The LA State Historic Park’s rich history and expansive grounds were the perfect backdrop for the festival. Originally opened in 2006, this 32-acre park has served as a vital green space in downtown Los Angeles, hosting various cultural and community events. The spacious layout allowed us to dance, relax, and enjoy the music without feeling cramped. The park’s open spaces also enabled the setup of multiple stages, food vendors, and interactive art installations, making it easy to explore and immerse ourselves in the experience.

**VIP Experience**

One standout feature was the VIP area. Unlike typical festivals where VIP spaces can feel just as crowded as general admission, Lost in Dreams offered larger-than-average VIP sections. These areas were designed with comfort and luxury in mind, providing ample seating, shaded areas, and exclusive bars that ensured VIP guests like myself had an elevated experience.

**Accessibility and Transportation**

Accessibility was another highlight. LA State Historic Park is known for being inclusive, with ramps and pathways designed to accommodate everyone. This year’s event also boasted incredibly convenient public transportation options. A major train stop located literally at the venue’s entrance made it a breeze to get to and from the festival. This convenience significantly reduced the hassle of parking and made the festival more accessible to those without cars.

**Safety and Speedy Entry**

Safety was a top priority at Lost in Dreams. We were greeted by friendly staff and efficient metal detectors at the entrance, ensuring a secure environment. Despite the thorough security checks, the lines moved quickly, allowing us to enter the venue with minimal wait time. This efficient process was a welcome change from the long, slow-moving lines I’ve experienced at other events.

**Bathroom Blues**

While most aspects of the festival were well-organized, there was one notable hiccup. The VIP bathroom stalls, which were supposed to offer a more comfortable alternative to Porta John’s, experienced significant flushing issues. As a result, we VIP attendees had to rely on the same Porta John’s as general admission. While this was a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of the festival, it was a disappointment for those of us who expected an upgraded restroom experience.

**Artist Highlights**

The festival boasted an incredible lineup, but a few artists stood out with their electrifying performances:

– **K?d:** Known for his unique blend of future bass and electronic music, K?d delivered a high-energy set that captivated the audience. His intricate soundscapes and powerful drops had us dancing non-stop, making his performance one of the festival’s highlights.

– **Seven Lions:** Seven Lions brought his signature melodic dubstep to the stage, enchanting us with his ethereal melodies and heavy basslines. His set was a journey through sound, leaving us in awe of his musical prowess and emotional depth.

– **Trivecta:** Trivecta’s performance was a perfect blend of melodic bass and progressive house, creating an uplifting and euphoric atmosphere. His seamless transitions and dynamic beats kept the energy high, ensuring his set was a memorable experience for all in attendance.

**A Memorable Festival**

Despite the bathroom issues, Lost in Dreams was a resounding success. The combination of a spacious, historic venue, generous VIP areas, excellent accessibility, and convenient transportation made for a memorable weekend. The efficient security and quick entry process ensured that everyone could enjoy the festival safely and without delay. Lost in Dreams has set a new standard for local festivals, and I can’t wait to see how it will continue to evolve in the coming years.
