Kosmic Kingdom Is Your Midwest Fantasy

If you haven’t had the chance to check out Kosmic Kingdom yet, you are missing out! This medieval festival has all the right vibes and is centrally located in Des Moines, Iowa! Not a lot of cool things happen in Iowa, but KK is one of those festivals that will wow you right away. The festival takes place June 3rd-4th with a preparty taking place on the 2nd. It’s truly a midwest fantasy!

I’ve gone to Kosmic since its inception, back when it was the little Kosmos. Originally, it was a 24 hour event where music ran for the full 24 hours and we camped in St. Charles, Iowa. The DJs back then were mostly local DJs (although Ill Gates headlined back in the day!). Then, it transformed into the festival we know today- Kosmos transformed into Kosmic Kingdom.

First off, let’s talk lineup!  

Kosmic has a pretty impressive lineup! CloZee and G Jones headline, but expect great things from Of The Trees, Opiou (who headlined a few years back and KILLED IT!), Shades, and Truth. The lowest tier artists are all your local Iowa favorites (who still GO HARD) and will show you what they’re made of!

Kosmic has a renaissance theme. The festival takes place at Sleepy Hollow Sports Park, which also doubles as a built in renaissance fair park. The built ins are INCREDIBLE and you’ll feel the vibe right away. There are also live fights between knights and other special surprises throughout the weekend.
