Aspyer & Fredrik Ferrier – Last Call

Aspyer’s New Track ‘Last Call’ Takes Listeners on a Nostalgic Journey. The song is a testament to the power of inspiration and collaboration, as Aspyer drew from his hometown, his family, and retro music to create a track that is sure to take listeners on a journey through time.

“I made this track while staying in my hometown with my family, and it was a great time that influenced the bright mood of this record,” Aspyer said. “I often look for inspiration in retro music, and this time I was inspired by the slow music of the 50s-60s, where beautiful violin parts take the listener to warm memories and warm the soul. I wanted to make a track with such a violin part.”

Aspyer’s unique approach to incorporating retro music into his EDM sound is a testament to his creativity and passion for music. The violin parts in ‘Last Call’ are a standout feature, providing a perfect complement to the uplifting beats and melodies. “I heard the vocal part of Fredrick Ferrier, and immediately understood that I wanted to make a track with him,” Aspyer added. “I was very inspired by his performance, and I felt the emotion that he wanted to convey from the first seconds.”

‘Last Call’ is an instant classic that showcases Aspyer’s talent and versatility as an artist.

John Vanderslice has shared the second single off his new album CRYSTALS 3.0 (out April 14th). I only have a few minutes to mix the song and the results are either sublime or trash. this one worked out!” explains Vanderslice. Nitepunk- Human

A true story of grit and determination manifests itself with the release of Nitepunk’s highly-anticipated debut album “Human,” out March 24th via HARD Records.

Nitepunk’s journey began in his homeland of Georgia, where he spent his days surrounded by mountain villages and Black Sea beaches. Dancing and raving from a young age, Nitepunk was fueled by his love and adoration for music. He was able to harness this love and build a community for ravers in his country. Though his successes in Georgia were palpable, Nitepunk knew there was something bigger in store for himself and his future in music. The artist packed his bags and headed to New York on a tourist visa, where he struggled to earn enough to keep a roof over his head.

Telesonic 9000- E. C. H. O

Drummer and producer Dominick Gray makes retro-futuristic post-punk music as Telesonic 9000. He formed the project while living in Berlin — he currently resides in Ann Arbor, MI and Toledo, OH — originally conceiving it as a live multimedia show that combined his music and film interests before expanding into digital music and video releases.

Gray just released his EP E.C.H.O., which will be paired with a short film later this spring. Both are inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey, Kraftwerk, Massive Attack, and postwar atomic visual imagery, with the short film assembled from 99 archive films remixed into 11 minutes. Both also blend his experiences in Berlin with an American sensibility, informed by his art school upbringing in Ohio.

The Natural Lines are excited to announce the release of their self-titled debut album out today via Bella Union (order). The Natural Lines is at once clearly Matt Pond’s work, yet a huge leap forward in its measured songcraft, melodic immediacy, collaborative detail and wryly questioning lyrics, the result is a gorgeous album of intimate reflections from a relocated, renamed, revivified talent.

The Reds, Pinks & Purples- The Town That Cursed Your Name

Whereas the 2022 collection Summer at Land’s End was a softer, gauzier world, The Town That Cursed Your Name is heavier, with fuzzed lines running through. “Leave It All Behind” starts out with an amorphous whine but quickly launches into something both supremely melodic and buzzing at the edges. “Here Comes the Lunar Hand” is an impressionist geometry that seems to capture the album’s themes without telling you how. Lyrically, Donaldson embraces the earnestness of his heroes Paul Westerberg and Grant McLennan. Sonically, late 80s college rock is filtered through song-forward lo-fi acts like East River Pipe and House of Tomorrow-era Magnetic Fields. Like the images that accompany his releases – flowers and residential street scenes are pushed to the breaking point with color – Donaldson’s songs are at the same time dazzling and lurid, beautiful and burdened, not unlike life as a musician around here.

Tomten- Ursula

“‘Ursula’ was the final song written for the record. I’ve always loved this idea from Charles Mingus — “making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.” There is something with this arrangement and chord structure where I was trying to get a piece of that. I was listening to a lot of Philly soul, like the Delfonics and the Spinners, when I started dreaming this song up. That intro into a diminished chord, with the electric goto melody — a lot of those soul arrangements include those kind of dramatic moments while still delivering on a simple pop hook. The structure is odd, and there are a lot of changes packed into 2 minutes. Also, the verses and choruses sort of blend into one another without a consistent pattern. A couple favorite sounds on this are the smoky guitar counter-melody on a Univox tape echo, the “aaaaah” backups from Brian, and the squashy Moog tucked into the outro.” -Dillon Sturtevant / Tomten

Virus Syndicate, Dope D.O.D, Harry Shotta, Franky Nuts, OneDa- SPLAT

From the US to the UK, as well as throughout Europe, Nika D as part of Virus Syndicate and as a solo artist has spread his influence to global club spaces through his worldwide tours (from the Hollywood Palladium to Glastonbury). That’s one reason why he’s been able to enlist some of the scene’s biggest names for this forthcoming single. ‘SPLAT!’ merges the heavyweight sounds of Dope D.O.D, Harry Shotta, Franky Nuts, OneDa alongside Virus Syndicate for an earth shattering meet of lyricism and production. Whilst Netherlands based Dope D.O.D, British MC Harry Shotta (also from SASASAS fame), fellow Mancunian OneDa and Virus Syndicate grab hold of the track’s vocal explosions, Franky Nuts provides the genre switch ups which jump into its drum & bass flavours. With accolades such as Circus Records and Disciple Records under his belt too, the experience Franky Nuts has as a producer infiltrates this cutthroat delivery, creating even more of a punch as it rolls between vocalist to vocalist. rival of Bad Medic Records, with foundations based within one of the UK’s most revered dance music and rap collaborations.

It’s an intimidating debut from such a game changing new label. One showing promise as it moves towards generating a back catalogue with a host of legendary figures from across the dance music and rap cultures, beginning with the unforgiving sonics of ‘SPLAT!’.

Zack Rosen- SYZYGY

Schizophrenia did not give Zack the gift of music; it tried to steal it from him. His life was destroyed by a disease he was unable to acknowledge. The shame, stigma, and fear of it made him choose to battle alone until it was too late to stop the progression. While there are glimpses into Zack’s internal battle in the lyrics of some of his songs, to attribute his creativity to his illness sells him short as a writer, an artist, a man. Zack fought his “demons” for years, until he could simply bear it no more. What is truly remarkable, and a testament to his fortitude and determination, is that he was able to keep writing and performing right up until the end, despite the ravages of the disease. In a song (“Find Your Place”) that he wrote and recorded just a week before he died, he sang, “This is no time to die.” He lost his battle eventually, but he was a mighty warrior. And the evidence of that is written all over his work.
