Artist Biography

JP Saxe is a n R&B artist originally from Toronto Canada that is currently based in Los Angeles. He is the grandson of award-winning Hungarian-born cellist Janos Starker. Saxe originally picked up the cello to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps but switched to piano and guitar after discovering jazz and R&B. In his 20s, he started performing weekly in Toronto and posted his songs online. Some producers in Los Angeles caught wind of his music and got Saxe to relocate to LA to record some of his songs in a studio. Starting in 2017, he released a few singles and a couple EPs with his track “If the World Was Ending” reaching the Billboard Hot 100 and earning a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year in 2020. In 2021, he released his debut album Dangerous Levels of Introspection with special gust Maren Morris.
