Calling all indie lovers! Welcome to MOPOP Festival: The indie escape.

Beginning in 2013, Mopop (Motown Pop) showcases indie, pop, and hip hop. Although on the smaller size of festivals, it is very comparable to Bonnaroo or Lollapalooza. Located on Detroit’s riverfront right across from Canada, it’s a chill and vibey festival to enjoy some of your favorite artists. The headliners this year are incredible such as Glass Animals and Big Sean. Mopop 2022 also is featuring some up and coming artists like Tai Verdes, Dominic Fike, and Girl in Red. Local Detroit Music Festival

Although Mopop originally started in Sterling Heights, Michigan, after two years it moved to Detroit, Michigan. Mopop prides itself on hosting local food and drink vendors and hosts many Detroit – based artists and vendors. Over the years Mopop has featured artists like Stef Chura, Heaters, and Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers. Local food/drinks include Slow Bars BBQ (one of my absolute favorites), hot dogs and tacos from Imperial, and cocktails from Sugar House. Mopop also offers ciders from Michigan’s own Blake’s Hard Ciders (they are delicious and have TONS of flavor).

Mopop is an all-ages event, and those under 6 get in for free. Offering GA 2-day and 1-day passes starting at $169, check them out here. VIP offers express entry, access to private lounges, and air-conditioned bathrooms, starting at $314, check them out here. Mopop also gives you the option for fast pass entry for only $40, a nice add-on for those very excited to get into the festival. The tickets work in tiers so make sure you get them ASAP before they sell out!
