Acclaimed producer, songwriter and multi-platinum EDGEOUT/UMG/UMe recording artist, ASHBA drops his latest single, “Cryptonite” Ft. Sarah de Warren.

“It was a pleasure collaborating with Sarah on our new single “Cryptonite,” says ASHBA. “We had a crazy idea to write a song around falling in love in the metaverse and losing all concept of reality. More now than ever, people are creating their perfect digital life online while neglecting their real lives. So we thought it would be interesting to put that into a song.” Adds Sarah, “we ended up writing a tragic love story based in the metaverse. When you can be anybody you want, and create a perfect world around you, then you suddenly have everything to lose. At some point you have to wake back up and face reality.”

Bok Nero- Toxic Rain

The aptly named melodic rnb track “Toxic Rain” is the latest single from Dim Mak signee Bok Nero, with production by David Mugratsch.

Shedding light on toxic relationships and unrequited love, “Toxic Rain” was a cathartic writing experience for Bok who typically dislikes talking about his feelings. While talking about his feelings is challenging, making music about them comes more naturally to Bok. While questioning himself on “why do I invest so much into these relationships to the point I feel empty when it’s over?” – Bok found closure in his own situation, while also creating a healing song for the listener with “Toxic Rain.”

Dana Buoy- Experiments in Plant-Based Music: Vol I

Portland’s Dana Buoy and Everloving Records are excited to announce the release of Experiments in Plant-Based Music: Vol. I, the band’s latest offering since 2018’s Ice Glitter Gold (order).  The album is the new release from Dana Janssen, longtime Akron/Family drummer, who has been making kaleidoscopic pop as Dana Buoy for a decade. Inspired by the flora that reign on the ground floor and Mort Garson’s endlessly pleasing Plantasia, and conceived in the basement beneath, these 12 pieces of luxuriant pop — rooted in Steely Dan and synthesizer strata, Afrobeat energy and astral harmonies, Robert Hunter koans and righteous horns — offer new mantras for and prospective maps of our complicated lives. “From nest we fall in no time at all,” Janssen coos at one point over incisive funk. “Know that I got you, I got you.” If you worry about any New Age tedium to a record inspired by photosynthesis, don’t: Janssen wants you to sing along with what he’s learned.

Danzel- Pump It Up (3 Are Legend, Tujamo, Jaxx & Vega, and the Black & White Bros)

‘Don’t you know pump it up, you’ve got to pump it up’ – one of the most iconic lyrics in recent house music history. The tune, “Pump It Up,” was initially released in 2004 by Belgian producer Danzel and reached the top 10 in more than 10 countries, peaking at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart.

Now, the iconic trio, 3 Are Legend (comprised of superstars Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Steve Aoki) teams with Tujamo, Jaxx & Vega, and Black & White Brothers to deliver a fresh rendition of the beloved house track. With layers of punchy drums and hard synths throughout the production, this crew has created the ultimate bouncing, big-room festival anthem. This 2022 version of “Pump It Up” comes right at you with a landslide of synths and a shuffle-ready melody that’s ready for peak time.

Eric Hilton- Something for Byrd

Montserrat House Music and veteran producer/artist Eric Hilton are excited to announce the FridayNovember 18 release of Present Past and Future, the downtempo pioneer’s forthcoming EP. Sonically, Present Past and Future shifts between jazz-tinged drum-n-bass and laid-back urban funk, with a dusty ambience throughout that will tick the trip-hop genre box for many. But Hilton’s crate-digging, vinyl connoisseur aesthetic brought disparate influences into the creation of this new offering, with nods to trumpeter Donald Byrd, jazz poet Gil Scott-Heron, and legendary American record production team the Mizell Brothers.

Leading the collection is “Something for Byrd,” a tune that gets a big bump in pedigree via a guest appearance by Brian Jackson, the sonic architect of Gil Scott-Heron’s most classic recordings. Gil was the genius jazz poet — and Brian Jackson wrote the music — their partnership lasting from 1974 to 1980, the period considered to be Scott-Heron’s most fruitful. In recent years, Hilton developed a friendship with Jackson, culminating in a guest appearance on Present Past and Future, along with other as-yet unreleased music.
