PHXLights: A 2 Day Festival Out of This Atmosphere

PHXLIGHTS returned with another intergalactic festival of lights, bass, and unforgettable vibes this past weekend. The Rawhide Event Center was once again transformed into a cosmic playground for thousands of ravers, with stellar production, décor, and a perfectly curated lineup spanning the spectrum of electronic music.

The Music: A Galactic Lineup Across Genres

Day One:

I got to catch It’s Murph and let me tell you he absolutely crushed it. His set became one of my favorites of the weekend. He played his classics like “Youthful Kids” and “Down Low” but also brought an hour of just pure house music. We were shuffling away to his set with his pastel color visuals providing the backdrop.

Rezz brought her dark techno and bass-lines with her eerie soundscape. She delivered a mesmerizing performance, enveloping the crowd in her signature sonic style. Her set featured intricate build-ups and atmospheric chords, creating an otherworldly experience that left a lasting impression on attendees.

NGHTMRE delivered his classic upbeat and heavy bass style to the night. He provided us a mix of trap, dubstep, and of course heavy bass music. NGHTMRE’s production was also the best of the festival with insane visuals and lasers that amplified his set.

Day Two:

Kaivon took the stage on Saturday and he delivered his signature style. He played his classics along with mixes bringing in melodic bass with the most smooth transitions. The crowd was dancing along as he brought his vibrant style and showed the crowd how immersive drops are performed.

Of the Trees set the tone with experimental bass and it was such a dope set! His performance was enhanced by his forest visuals bringing in a serene yet captivating environment while he played. The crowd was bouncing to his set while he demonstrated tranquil bass lines for attendees.

Louis the Child wrapped up the night with their upbeat and dynamic sound. With their blend of future bass and electro-pop known for hits like “Better Not” and “It’s Strange,” their uplifting melodies and infectious energy have made them festival favorites. They engaged the audience with a selection of their popular tracks, creating an immersive experience that highlighted their ability to blend various musical genres seamlessly. The duo’s interaction with the crowd and their vibrant stage presence contributed to a memorable performance.

Venue and Atmosphere:

Returning to the Rawhide Event Center, the festival provided ample space for dancing, short lines for amenities, and a variety of vendors, enhancing the overall attendee experience. There were food trucks serving an array of assortments from tacos to vegan comfort food.

There was even an arcade placed on the side of the main stage.

Festival attendees could take a break or listen to a set while playing their favorite games all for no cost.
