Artist Biography

Buffalo Traffic Jam is the Bozeman, Montana–born folk‑Americana duo of Frankie Cassidy and Nathan Ross, whose meticulous blend of acoustic instrumentation, heartfelt lyricism, and spacious harmonic design has rapidly elevated them from dorm‑room jam sessions to major‑label stages. Formed while the duo were students at Montana State University, their sound channels the raw beauty of wide‑open landscapes into tightly woven folk arrangements built on finger‑picked guitar, rich vocal harmonies, mandolin, and understated rhythmic textures that anchor both melody and mood with technical clarity. After self‑releasing a self‑titled debut EP and a string of emotionally driven singles — including the breakout Forgot Your Roots that helped them secure a record deal with Arista Records — Buffalo Traffic Jam continued refining their craft on the Take Me Home EP, where layered acoustic timbres, evocative narrative themes of resilience and nostalgia, and precision in studio production coalesce into tracks that feel both timeless and contemporary. With festival appearances and extensive touring across North America on the horizon, the band’s work demonstrates a disciplined command of folk traditions and modern sonic polish that resonates deeply in intimate settings and expansive live fields alike.
