Artist Biography

Matt Maeson is a singer/songwriter who crafts gritty folk rock. He learned guitar and drums at a young age and went on tour as part of his father’s prison ministry. His experience performing at high-security prisons made a strong impression that shaped his future as an artist. Matt started posting bluesy indie folk tracks online and caught the attention of Atlantic affiliate Neon Gold Records. He signed with this label in 2016. With his new label, he went on a headlining tour presented by Communion, the music organization founded by Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett. In 2017, Matt released his debut EP Who Killed Matt Maeson? with the singles “Cringe” and “Grave Digger.” In 2019, he released his full-length debut Bank On the Funeral which has the chart-topping single “Hallucinogenics” that later was redone with guest vocals from Lana Del Rey. In 2020, Matt started a new band USERx with producer Rozwell that made a guest spot on Illenium’s EP Heavenly Side.
