Artist Biography

Sonny John Moore — better known to millions as Skrillex — is the Los Angeles-born sonic architect who helped pull electronic bass music from underground clubs into the festival mainstage spotlight. Born in 1988 and raised between Northeast L.A. and Northern California, Moore first cut his teeth as the electrifying frontman of the post-hardcore band From First to Last, recording two albums before pivoting to a solo path that would redefine a generation’s sound. By 2010, he had shed his rock roots to unleash My Name Is Skrillex and the genre-shaking Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, projects that blistered dancefloors with aggressive drops and intricate design and earned him multiple Grammys and accolades as one of EDM’s most influential producers. Through boundary-pushing collaborations, surprise albums, and a restless creative drive that refuses to stand still, Skrillex has become not just a name in electronic music but a cultural lightning rod whose impact is felt across genres and continents.
