Artist Biography

Girl Tones are the high‑energy rock duo forged by sisters Kenzie (guitar/vocals) and Laila (drums) Crowe, whose evolution from classically trained musicians to explosive garage‑punk rockers has rapidly transformed them into one of the most electrifying young acts on the contemporary rock circuit. Hailing from Bowling Green, Kentucky, the pair abandoned cello and piano in favor of guitar and drums to channel raw, visceral rock energy, developing a sound that fuses punk’s unfiltered urgency with blues‑rock grit and new‑wave attitude, all sharpened through early releases like “Fade Away” and “Again” produced by Brad Shultz of Cage the Elephant at Nashville’s Battle Tapes studio. Their technical approach — powered by Kenzie’s dense, distorted guitar textures and Laila’s punchy, propulsive rhythms — is grounded in tight rhythmic interplay, dynamic tension shifts, and an emotive vocal edge that turns theme‑driven storytelling into visceral musical force; the duo’s incendiary live shows, major festival debuts, and international tours with the likes of Cage the Elephant and Silversun Pickups reflect a disciplined rock craftsmanship and kinetic performance energy that belies their relatively recent emergence.
