Artist Biography
Wet Leg is the critically acclaimed English indie rock band from the Isle of Wight whose rapid ascent from college classmates to global festival headliners has redefined modern post-punk and indie pop with both playful irreverence and razor-sharp musical craft. Founded in 2019 by Rhian Teasdale (vocals/guitar) and Hester Chambers (guitar/vocals), the group exploded into international consciousness with their breakout single “Chaise Longue,” a deadpan, rhythm-driven anthem that went viral upon its 2021 release and showcased their knack for marrying catchy hooks with sardonic lyricism. Their self-titled debut album debuted atop the UK and Australian charts and earned prestigious accolades — including Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance — while subsequent work like their 2025 follow-up Moisturizer saw the band expand into a tight-knit five-piece and refine their sound with bolder, more dynamic arrangements, brash guitars, and incisive storytelling. Technically, Wet Leg blends crisp post-punk textures, buoyant rhythmic interplay, and a keen sense of studio and live energy that translates into electrifying performances, making them one of the most distinctive and influential indie rock acts of their generation.
