Artist Biography

Teddy Swims, the stage name of Georgia-born vocalist Jaten Collin Dimsdale, has emerged as one of contemporary pop-soul’s most dynamic voices by fusing classic soul power with modern streaming-era songwriting and digital discovery. Raised in Conyers, Georgia, Swims first developed his performance instincts through high-school musical theater and a deep immersion in soul legends like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder before spending years fronting an eclectic range of Atlanta-area bands spanning metal, rock, and R&B projects. His breakthrough arrived in 2019 when a series of emotionally charged YouTube cover performances—ranging from Michael Jackson to Shania Twain—rapidly accumulated millions of views, ultimately leading to a deal with Warner Records and a string of genre-blending releases that merge soul, R&B, pop, and country influences. His EP Tough Love (2022) marked his first entry on the Billboard 200, while the global hit “Lose Control” propelled him into mainstream prominence after topping the Billboard Hot 100 in 2024. Technically defined by a raspy, gospel-inflected vocal delivery and emotionally expansive songwriting, Swims translates studio precision into festival-scale performances that combine soul tradition, modern pop production, and a deeply expressive live presence.
