Artist Biography
Blues Traveler is the quintessential American rock and jam band born in 1987 in Princeton, New Jersey, whose deep fusion of blues‑rock, folk‑rock, psychedelic textures, and soul‑tinged improvisation has embodied a uniquely expansive approach to roots‑based music. Anchored by the virtuosic harmonica and incisive songwriting of frontman John Popper alongside guitarist Chan Kinchla, drummer Brendan Hill, bassist Tad Kinchla, and keyboardist Ben Wilson, the group broke into mainstream acclaim with their fourth studio album Four — propelled by multi‑platinum hits like “Run‑Around” and “Hook” and a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance. Over a decades‑long career that spans more than a dozen studio records and thousands of live performances, Blues Traveler’s trademark blend of tight songcraft and expansive, segue‑rich jams has kept them both festival favorites and torchbearers of a jam band tradition that values spontaneity, musicianship, and deep interplay onstage.
