Artist Biography
Yungblud—born Dominic Richard Harrison in Doncaster, England—is a genre-defying singer-songwriter whose rapid ascent from actor and bedroom songwriter to one of modern rock’s most visible provocateurs reflects a deliberate collision of punk ethos, pop accessibility, and digitally native audience engagement. Emerging in the late 2010s with early singles like “King Charles” and the debut album 21st Century Liability (2018), Harrison built a sound that merges alternative rock, pop-punk, and hip-hop influences into tightly structured, high-energy compositions driven by sharp lyrical commentary on youth culture, identity, and social tension. His subsequent releases—including Weird! (2020) and later chart-topping projects like Idols—expanded that framework with broader melodic ambition and arena-scale production, while maintaining a raw, confrontational edge rooted in classic British rock lineage and contemporary pop songwriting. Technically defined by rapid-fire vocal delivery, hook-forward structures, and a fusion of analog instrumentation with modern production techniques, Yungblud translates his studio work into theatrical live performances that emphasize immediacy, crowd interaction, and spectacle, positioning himself as both a cultural spokesperson for a new generation and a driving force in the ongoing reinvention of mainstream rock.
