Artist Biography
Maddy O’Neal is a DJ who grew up in a musical family. Her father lived in Hollywood and toured the West Coast with his band in a converted Wonder Bread truck. Maddy played a variety of instruments while growing up but never stuck with one. Her brother dove head first into music and played with several indie bans around Saint Louis. In 2010, her brother received Ableton as a Christmas gift and gave Maddy his extra copy. Around the same time she was moving to Denver for college and became immersed in the city’s electronic scene. For seven years she watched YouTube guides and worked with local music friends to learn everything about music, from the technology behind it to music theory. After she got her spotlight at her first Red Rocks appearance, Maddy went on to show the world what she was made of, playing 88 shows over four major tours with the Floozies, Lettuce, Sunsquabi, and Pretty Lights. She is a huge feminist and strives to be a beacon of pride for women as she continues to find success in the electronic music industry.
