Artist Biography

Marcus Mumford is a British-American singer/songwriter who fronted the Grammy Award-winning group Mumford & Sons. He was born in Yorba Linda, California, to English parents who are leaders of the Christian Association of Vineyard Churches. He relocated to London at an early age and attended King’s College School. Marcus attended the University of Edinburgh for a year and then dropped out to pursue a career in music, starting off as the touring drummer for Laura Marling. In 2007, he co-founded Mumford & Sons with banjo/dobro player Winston Marshall, keyboardist Ben Lovett, and bassist Ted Dwane. The band found success in their album releases of Babel in 2012, Wilder Mind in 2015, and Delta in 2018, all of which reached number one on the Billboard 200. In 2020, Marcus helped composed the score and theme song for Ted Lasso seasons one and two. The next year he released his first solo album, a self-titled effort featuring collaborations with Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers, Clairo, and Monica Martin.
