Seismic Dance Event: Top Artists To See

Seismic Dance Event: Top Artists To See

Seismic Dance Event is upon us in Austin, TX and there are some serious headliners this year. New and old, un-sung and mass-hyped, the spread of artists is incredible but I wanted to break down the top 5 artists on my line-up for this weekend. Take a look at the artists below but make sure to do your research into any artists not listed. Just because they are not highlighted doesn’t mean they can’t end up being YOUR highlight of the weekend.

Gesaffelstein

  • The Dark Prince of Techno has been having himself an incredible run in recent years. From collaborations with the Weeknd, to a smash EP with Gamma, to gracing headlining spots at Coachella, CRSSD, and even most recently, The Kia Forum, Mr. Levy has been nothing short of levitating above his compatriots. Gesaffelstein has years of bangers underneath his belt and concert-goers can get completely lost in a trance while they bump the dark techno beats over and over. Gesaffelstein does a pretty solid job during his sets to not only keep listeners guessing with his tracks, but also does a good job of teasing his top hits throughout the set culminating in a big drop when it’s finally time for a song like Hellifornia. This is going to be my number one MUST SEE for the weekend and I can’t wait to see what he and his team has planned for us.

Jerro

  • Jerro has been taking the game into his own hands recently and really been having some special sets streamed and posted on Youtube. His new Canopy Club mixes have been taking the internet by storm as low-key, small crowd events are taking place across the country in unique areas, bringing the good vibe beats as far as the coasts stretch. I had the pleasure of meeting Jerro in San Diego a few years ago and spent an unexpected night out backstage bouncing around to his good energy and good tunes and I cannot wait to see what else he has in store for a much larger crowd at Seismic. Jerro will be a great early set to catch, definitely worthy of getting in ASAP on day 3, no matter the energy levels you are running on.

Waxtroda

  • The newest coming together of two superstar DJs into a major duo is here and Waxtroda is here to stay. Both artists come into this duo with an impressive selection of collaborators, both within EDM and outside of it. Wax Motif and Maxtroda both bring a certain amount of hip-hop to the scene that bass house fanatics truly appreciate. Bouncing between rap, deep house, tech house, and bass house, Waxtroda has already proven a pretty incredible performance to those who have seen them out. I will say without a doubt that this is the most excited I have heard friends come out of a new duo show for the year, and there have been quite a number of duos popping up in 2024. They will be closing out their stage while Carl Cox closes out the stage nearby, so we may see some new-school vs old-school splits in the crowd but I will certainly be at Waxtroda in order to not miss out on the FOMO that I have been feeling recently hearing stories from others.

Sammy Virji

  • Another name that has been having a crazy 2024 is Sammy Virji. From playing as many festivals as possible, to being a huge craze on Tik Tok and other social media, he has been seen alongside so many names such as John Summit, Disclosure, Dom Dolla, Fred Again, Joy Anonymous, and many more. Just this week, he released his Boiler Room set in Denver, which is an incredible listen if you have the time to spare. The best thing about Sammy Virji is that his style can vary and vary depending on who he is playing with. You can be light and floating with Sammy and Fred Again or you can go dark and heavy with him playing alongside Hamdi at a secret Glasonbury set. The real question is, which Sammy are we going to be getting at Seismic? No matter the direction he takes, I am sure this set will be an amazing lead into Disclosure on night 3.

Max Styler

  • With a name like his, you have to make sure your style is turned up to the max and that has been no issue for Max Styler. No matter where you were in 2024, you would be hard-pressed not to have Max’s music “Touch” your listening habits in one way or another. Max has found his way into many mixes and playlists with his tunes and has been heavily featured at music festivals far and wide. Whether he is bringing fans to “Tears” with his remix of John Summit or just making sure to “See You Sweat” with his banger collab with GENESI, you cannot escape his music and you don’t want to either. Leading straight into the closing act of Waxtroda, the back-to-back Max into Wax will bring the heat, and Seismic attendees would be heavily encouraged not to miss these sets.
