Sol Blume Is Back In Sacramento This Spring

Sacramento’s R&B and soul music festival is back after a two-year hiatus and better than ever with a new location. Sol Blume is moving from downtown’s Cesar Chavez Plaza to Discovery Park along the river. The independent music festival will be expanding from one day to two this year on April 30th and May 1st, 2022. City of trees, get ready for this award-winning musical lineup and a weekend of soulful sounds.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to continue to bring a carefully curated and unique R&B experience to Sacramento. We took two years off due to the pandemic, which gave us more time to evolve Sol Blume further,” said festival founder Fornati Kumeh. “Sol Blume 2022 marks year three and the best yet, from the lineup to the venue and overall vibe and experience. We can’t wait to Blume in Sacramento this Spring.”

Sol Blume

The event has a strong female lead this year with headliners Summer Walker, the queen Jhene Aiko, and UK’s finest Jorja Smith. Toronto native PartyNextDoor is the fourth headliner and an artist that always delivers. Sol Blume will be Smith’s and PND’s first US appearances this year and fans are coming from all around the west coast to get a taste of their sounds.

Do not sleep on the rest of the lineup. Outside of the headliners, I am most excited about the charming sounds of SiR and the beautiful melodies from Alina Baraz. I can’t wait for the Marvin Gaye vibes when Lucky Daye plays his song “Good & Plenty” featuring Masego. I know there will be all the nostalgic feels when Tinashe comes out and a lot of dancing when Thundercat brings his groovy sounds to the stage. Don’t forget about Kirby who has the voice of an angel!

As a new local to Sacramento, I’m ready to dive into the city’s music scene and experience everything Sol Blume stands for: the celebration of art, culture, love, social diversity, and good vibes.
