We’re Grooving To Groove Cruise Themes!
This cruise will get you grooving! Groove Cruise, Whet Travel’s flagship event and the world’s largest floating music festival, has revealed the lineup for its 2027 sailing, which will depart from Miami to Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island, Bahamas, from Thursday, January 21, to Monday, January 25, 2027 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas. All 2,859 staterooms are already sold out, reinforcing the power of a 22-year independent brand that now routinely fills ships before a single artist is announced. So we know you’ve gotta get on the ball for this one!
Over the course of two decades, Groove Cruise has evolved from a sailing of 125 friends into one of the most loyal and emotionally connected communities in live music. There are thousands of people on this cruise. Now entering its 39th voyage, Groove Cruise is less a traditional event and more a recurring transformational journey at sea. Everything you need in one place! A floating cultural ecosystem where strangers quickly become family, artists step off the stage to connect with fans, and sunrise sets turn into conversations, breakthroughs, and memories that stay with Captains long after they return home.
Jason Beukema, Founder and Chief Excitement Officer of Groove Cruise, says:
“Most festivals need a lineup to sell tickets. Our Captains sold out Groove Cruise 2027 11 months in advance before a single artist was announced. What we’ve built over the last twenty-two years is so much bigger than a festival or just a lineup. It’s a living, breathing community (aka GCFAM) built on music, belonging, adventure, and transformation. The lineup matters in a huge way, and there are so many new and returning artists who are going to bring the best vibes and music that I couldn’t be more excited about. But the real story is the energy people feel when they step onboard and realize they’ve found their new family. That’s the Groove Effect, and GC27 is another big step forward for that movement.”
For 2027, Groove Cruise will stage the first ever private takeover of Royal Caribbean’s brand new Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Loving that! This dynamic beachfront destination features the Floating Flamingo, along with multiple pools, private beachfront zones, local island flavors, and curated spaces for both celebration and reset. Reserved exclusively for the #GCFAM, the takeover marks the next evolution of a movement that has transformed nearly 100,000 lives at sea. That sounds like an absolute BLAST!

The 2027 lineup brings together artists from across house, techno, trance, melodic, bass, drum n bass and beyond. Headliners include techno kingpin and Drumcode founder Adam Beyer, Groove Cruise fan favorite BUNT., beloved fun starter Disco Lines (who just won song of the year at the EDMAs and IDMAs), hard-groove house and techno force KETTAMA, and techno trailblazer Eli Brown. They are joined by a wide-reaching cast that includes Andrew Bayer, CID, DJ Susan, Ely Oaks, Mitis, Sam Feldt, Tom Higgenson of Plain White T’s, Travis Clark of We The Kings, Trivecta, and many more.
In an industry where female representation still too often falls short, Groove Cruise continues to push in the opposite direction. The 2027 edition surpasses 35% women artists, exceeding the broader landscape by 3-5x and continuing the brand’s commitment to giving women meaningful visibility and strong placements across the sailing. Captains can look forward to performances from Amy Wiles, Bella Renee, Jackie Hollander, Linney, Luci, Maxinne, me n ü, Nifra, Raecola, Sarah de Warren, Whipped Cream, and more.
What sets Groove Cruise apart is not just who is on the lineup, but how the experience is built around connection. Across four days and nights, over 6,500 Captains will navigate through 13 stages, over 100 artist-hosted fan experiences, 8 immersive theme parties, wellness programming, surprise moments, and environments intentionally designed to break down barriers and build community. It truly is one of a kind! It is one of the rare music experiences where the line between artist and audience softens, where strangers quickly become family, sunrise sets turn into deep conversations, and longtime attendees return to reunite with their GCFAM they only see at sea. There is so much to see and do!
Allure of the Seas helps bring that vision to life at a massive scale. Part of Royal Caribbean’s iconic Oasis Class, the newly refurbished ship just went through a $100 million renovation and spans 18 decks across the length of 4 football fields. The ship offers seven neighborhoods, 40 restaurants, expansive outdoor decks, thrilling water slides, a surf simulator, zip lining, a full-service spa, casino and open-air spaces like Central Park with live plants and trees, allowing Groove Cruise to create its most expansive and dynamic environment to date. I’ve been on several cruises, but this one knocks it out of the park.
With the 2027 sailing already sold out, Groove Cruise continues to prove that its momentum is driven by the strength of the community itself. As the brand enters its next chapter, GC27 stands as another signal that Groove Cruise has become one of the most culturally resonant and emotionally sticky experiences in live music. If you want to go, prep yourself now for 2028!

But we aren’t done yet! The 2027 theme journey begins on Thursday, January 21, with Represent, Groove Cruise’s beloved opening tradition. Captains are invited to showcase the flags, hometown pride, cultural icons, sports jerseys, and personal symbols that shaped them. Represent aligns with Wave One: Gauge Your Frequency, encouraging Captains to recognize the energy they bring into the experience and begin the journey with intention.
Thursday night continues with Lost in Neverland, a moonlit fantasy escape built around pirates, mermaids, fairies, mischief and wonder. The theme embraces Wave Two: Ride Your Curiosity, inviting Captains to surrender to exploration, follow spontaneity and step into the unknown with an open heart.
On Friday, January 22, the daytime theme Naughty by Nature transforms the ship into a lush, untamed paradise of vines, flowers, butterflies, bees, ivy and bold natural beauty. The theme reflects Wave Three: Overcome Your Comfort Zone, encouraging Captains to release fear, embrace vulnerability and express their wild side with confidence.

Friday night brings Cartoons Gone Wild, where animated-inspired alter egos, fantasy characters and full-color chaos take over the ship after dark. The theme connects with Wave Four: Own Your Groove, celebrating authenticity, imagination and the freedom to express yourself without self-editing.
On Saturday, January 23, destination day arrives with Flamingle, a vibrant daytime theme designed to carry the energy from ship to shore. Flamingos, tropical accessories, hot pink looks and island flair will turn the Royal Beach Club takeover into a cheeky, high-energy celebration. Flamingle aligns with Wave Five: Vibe With Purpose, reminding Captains to move intentionally, embrace vitality and connect with what makes them feel fully alive.

Back onboard Saturday night, Captains launch To The Moon, an intergalactic celebration of astronauts, moon boots, metallics, iridescent extraterrestrials and space-age style. The theme represents Wave Six: Embrace & Elevate, highlighting the power of connection, belonging and lifting others as the community reaches new heights together.
The final day, Sunday, January 24, begins with Retro Splash & Sass, a poolside throwback through decades of swimwear, vintage glam, neon ‘80s energy and Y2K flair. The theme embodies Wave Seven: Spark A Ripple, encouraging Captains to recognize the impact they create through shared energy, intentional action and community connection.
To close the 2027 sailing, Groove Cruise descends into Cyberpunk Vice, a neon-soaked future of LEDs, metallics, leather, chrome, futuristic streetwear and high-tech rebellion. Serving as the culmination of Wave Eight: The Infinity, the final theme symbolizes vision, legacy and the understanding that the energy created onboard continues to ripple far beyond the voyage itself.

So if you are going, we’re loving this! But if not, save for 2028. We hope to see you there!
