Artist Biography

The Stews are an Atlanta‑based rock quartet whose technical command of melody, groove, and dynamic songwriting has propelled them from college‑band beginnings to nationwide stages and major festival fields with remarkable momentum. Formed at Auburn University in 2020 — where Preston Hall (lead vocals/guitar), Blake Dobbs (rhythm guitar), Bennett Baugus (bass), and Wyatt Griffith (drums) found chemistry in impromptu jam sessions — the group’s craft quickly evolved beyond student gigs into a relentless touring machine that sold out venues from New York’s Bowery Ballroom to Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club. Their 2022 debut album What Was showcased rhythmic precision, layered guitar textures, and anthemic choruses rooted in classic rock, blues‑tinged riffs, and indie sensibilities, while their 2024 follow‑up Chicken Fight expanded their sonic palette with influences from Pink Floyd, Audioslave, and The Allman Brothers woven into visceral arrangements that balance technical musicianship with head‑banging urgency. With breakout singles like “Make It Out” earning millions of streams and their electrifying live sets capturing both sing‑along hooks and propulsive rock momentum, The Stews embody a modern rock aesthetic that marries thoughtful composition with raw festival energy.
