Artist Biography

Goldie Boutilier is the Canadian singer‑songwriter and multi‑disciplinary artist whose evolution from pop‑infused major‑label beginnings to a richly textured alt‑country and Americana force showcases a rare blend of cinematic storytelling and technical versatility. Born Kristin Kathleen Boutilier in Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia, she first broke into the industry under the moniker My Name Is Kay after being discovered by Ryan Tedder and signed to Interscope Records, releasing her debut EP and album that blended pop and electronic elements; after parting ways with major labels and reinventing herself in Paris as a DJ and model, she returned to her roots under her own name, crafting music steeped in 1950s–60s Americana, tragic romance, and small‑town reflection that’s both lyrical and meticulously produced. Her independent releases — including the EPs Cowboy Gangster Politician and Emerald Year and the 2025 album Goldie Boutilier Presents… Goldie Montana — fuse alt‑pop, country, rock, and disco textures with precise vocal control and layered arrangements, earning praise from tastemakers like Zane Lowe and Elton John and securing her place on major festival lineups with a sound that feels cinematic, personal, and unflinchingly bold.
