Artist Biography

Cory Henry, who you may know from Snarky Puppy, is a prodigy Hammond B-3 organ player who could play the organ and piano by the age of two. He made his legendary Apollo Theater debut when he was only six years old. From there he continued to master his craft, working in the studio and going on tour with the likes of Yolanda Adams, Stanley Brown, P. Diddy, Boyz II Men, Bruce Springsteen, and the Roots. Cory has a style that combines the best of gospel and jazz with clear influences from Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, and some Billy Preston. As a bandleader he released the albums Christmas with You, Leave You Alone, and Gotcha Now Doc in 2010, 2011, and 2012 respectively. Following this bandleader foray, Cory has been a member of Snarky Puppy, an experimental jazz and funk ensemble that holds two Grammy Awards for Best R&B Performance in 2014 and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2015. He currently tours with Snarky Puppy and as a bandleader.
